Donkeys are the best Security for valuable Alpine Cows against preying beasts

This darling donkey lives down the road from where we spend our vacation time in Cumbria. I discovered that the family who owns these donkeys has rescued them and given them a "forever home".

Further research led me to a charity that rescues donkeys in the UK, called The Donkey Sanctuary

I am so impressed with what these people and the individuals who provide homes do to care for these animals.

Burlington Northern GE C30-7 No. 5554 passes a sister locomotive on another coal empty on a siding just east of Donkey Creek on May 29, 1998. Empty coal trains are frequently staged here waiting to head south on the Orin Line for loading, when the mine is ready for them. Later, BNSF even built a new yard at this location for the same purpose.

We also have 2 donkeys who live in our neighborhood park. The neighborhood shares the expenses of their "room and board", in a small field that abuts the park. They are very glad to interact with people who walk up to their fence. Volunteers take them for walks in the park.

Nearby the old gnarly tree was a field with a number of Donkeys and Horses. Here's a pretty little donkey up to it's chest in Buttercups! It's been a great year for Buttercups, it seems!

Someone thinks of entertaining the donkeys with a Sony TV that he kindly dumped near their pen. He does not know that donkeys do not have time to watch television and that if they would had hands they would be able to get rid of the television in a more rational and less polluting way.

Happy World Animal Day!!

Donkeys are the most misunderstood and abused animals around the world .

More frome the "horse day" at Bartholomä. They aren't really horses but I love donkeys and enjoyed seeing them. These two were unusually cooperative for donkeys. :)

At Arkville, NY.

Something different 😊

We saw this little donkey scratching an itch on it's hind leg, while we were on our adventuring trip yesterday. We visited an Arboretum and then decided to travel into W. Virginia and ended up in Romney. Lots of new sights and laughter and many more memories. :)
