I'll be away for the week with 10 students and some parents as we go to Nahmakanta Lake Camps for dogsledding and other adventures. We trek in 8 miles from the road as the camps are only accessible by snowmobile or on foot. We stay in cabins heated by woodstoves, prepare our own meals, and go snowshoeing, skiing and dogsledding as we explore the outside world in winter. Of the three week-long adventure trips we go on each school year, I think this one packs the biggest wollop!
For those of you concerned about Larissa, my mom will be spending the week. She's much more helpful than me!
Could it get much better than this? Dogsledding alongside the frozen Spray Lakes in the Kananaskis was an experience to remember.

We were in Canmore for the Winter Carnival and part of the festivites was dog sledding. These gorgeous dogs were so eager to race and had amazing amounts of energy.

It was still dark when our plane landed in Reykjavik. We bolted out straight for Skalafell ski area near Thingvellir National Park for some early morning dogsledding. So much fun! The dogs are amazing.
