While photographing the family, Trinity looks over at her dad Bailey at the exact moment I hit the shutter. The title says it all...
" What's goin on Dad ? "
Well, that's what I think she's asking.
My boy Carter enjoying an afternoon at the Dog Part. Unseasonably warm weather this year allowed for some sunny dips for an overheaded Labrador. He prefers the river but a kiddie pool will suffice when time is limited.
Another night at dogpark. Humans were scarce, so I kept looking around. The light was from a headlight of a car hidden by the bushes in the foreground.
Don't know quite why I am so taken by shake shots, but they humor me.

In June of 2020 we got a new dog, a Blue Heeler mix we named Ridley (Elliot is a big Star Wars fan and she is named after Daisy Ridley). Being part Heeler, Ridley needs LOTS of exercise. We are fortunate to live near a dog park. Jackson Bark is a community dog park named (and located in) Chicago’s Jackson Park. The park is an adaptive resume of four existing abandoned tennis courts. The space is filled with agility course obstacles made from reclaimed and recycled materials.
This build was started in 2020 when I attempted to build the traffic cones. I returned to the build years later with a focus on creating irregular and imperfect bases to mimic the decay of the park. I also tried to incorporate LEGO wheel/tire elements in each of the three builds. Having Ridley in all three scenes is a reflection of how much exercise she needed in those first few years. The build of Elliot and Ridley together atop the obstacle is inspired by a picture we took at one of those early visits.
OH, it's not Velvet, but I sure wish it was!!
apparently, the little white dog to the right was in with the bigs dogs because it really enjoyed to rustle them up! LOL (according to the owner). I JUST LOVE that little white dog!!
Running right to me was Wanda, she's one and a half yrs old.
behind her is Bo, can't remember his age, sorry!!!

In loving memory of my mother, Jean M. Odlum, who passed away Oct. 6, 2009. This is the bench we used to sit on at the Ambleside off-leash park where we petted hundreds of dogs. She loved them all, and they loved her right back.
My mom was a pioneer who, with the love of her life, kept the lights shining at Triple Island, Race Rocks and Point Atkinson light stations. I miss her beautiful voice, the sound of her laughter, her wisdom and her extraordinary lemon meringue pie.
