The Nicobar pigeon (Caloenas nicobarica) is the only living member of the genus Caloenas and the closest living relative of the extinct dodo. It is found in the small islands and coastal regions of the Nicobar Island, India, the Malay Penninsula, and Palau. Seen in the Owens Aviary San Diego Zoo
Conservation Status: Near Threatened.

Yes, I know it is no Dodo Bird (its a Shoebill Stork), but every time I see this bird, Dodo Bird comes to mind:)
That's how he looked right before he started his antics. (Teasing me, with moving his wings, closing them....a few times, before he took flight) I always thought they are too heavy to fly, but this time he showed me what he could do.
Right now I like to work with bokeh, (I'm sure you haven't noticed...lol) Usually I get the bokeh straight from the way I take the images, but some of them just don't look right, so I help a bit:) still I mostly use the natural background to design the bokeh. The stork is all natural, just added the bokeh.

We were staying at Sooke Harbour House, a few years ago when it was open and running, and placed on the grounds was this cool piece of driftwood in the shape of a bird.

Harold Lanning Sr. began construction of Dodo in the year 1914 in Henderson Bay, South Puget Sound. He designed the craft to be a strictly conventional work-boat of the period. When asked why he named his steamboat 'DODO', Harold, replied, "Steamboats will be extinct by the time I get it done!" We did some shooting with Diao, Dodo & Kiki around the Nunobiki no Taki in the north part of Sannomiya, It was raining, and even a bit snowing in the mountain. I have some pictures from the shooting in the first comment.
