KCS Fort Smith Dodger led by an EMD GP 38-2 locomotive pops out of a truss bridge over the Poteau River at Poteau, OK on its way back to its yard at Heavner, OK.
On a dull and dreary day, KCS Fort Smith Dodger led by an EMD GP 38-2 crosses the Wooden trestle over Poteau River at Poteau, OK on its way back to its yard at Heavner, OK.
Tricker than I anticipated taking this shot avoiding the many vehicles driving by (and honking) in the middle of the day... Makes sense why they called their team the Brooklyn Dodgers!
KCS' Fort Smith Dodger crosses a trestle south of Rock Island, Okla. on Sept. 17, 2018. Credit for this shot goes to Uncle Wak, who provided all the information so I could GTS! Thanks!
Dodger Stadium. Downtown Los Angeles. Golden hour light. All three in this shot from a helicopter. Many months ago. Helicopter aerials have been my favorite for quite some time. And it's about time to get back in the air. That's all I have to say about that.
The KCS Fort Smith Dodger is heading back to Heavener, OK. The train is seen here near Rock Island, OK. This was my first Drone shot of the trip, after looking for, and finding my lost drone in a tree, a few hours before this. After an hour or so searching, and then throwing water bottles about 30 feet in the air, I finally hit the drone and made the catch before it hit the ground. I missed all the shots of the NB trip to Fort Smith, But was able to get the SB chase, and the drone was ok!
Odd One Out. Smile on Saturday! :-)
Thank you in advance for views faves and comments all very much appreciated.
Dodger stadium, Los Angeles
This was a hard composition to do because I wanted to see the stadium and downtown in the same time. At night it actually looked way nicer because of the city lights! Do you like to take night photos?
Another first for me, baking homemade Jammy Dodgers, I'm not that keen on the shop bought variety but these are very good.
The recipe is at Fig Jam and Lime Cordial
The DTLA skyline with Dodgers Stadium at sunset. Full pano from 11 vertical images. The clouds have a soft milky consistency as the evening light adds a glow to the atmosphere. This is a great vantage point, which I discovered many years ago, that is often seen in television commercials. There are many corners of Los Angeles that provide these extraordinary views.
** Thank you all for the comments and faves!! **
A trio of 4-axle EMD units lead a KCS local train - the "Watts Dodger" - around a curve just south of Siloam Springs, AR on October 25, 2021 as it heads back to Watts for the evening.
Today my friend Louis had to let go of a dear friend of his; his Dodger "dog."
I know this has to be tough for him. After surviving 29 months of homelessness. He met Dodger, a rescue dog over 11 years ago and has been with him ever since.
They both greyed together. And their friendship and love for one another was unbreakable. Dodger has progressively gotten more sick over the past few months, can barely walk, see or hear. And started to suffer from seizures.
It was more than an honor to be able to photograph them together. Actually while editing these photos, I couldn't help but cry, because loss is a lot especially through these times. And their is so strong and powerful. He was more than just a dog, but a friend, a companion and support with all that Louis is going through and it just hurts to see Louis lose yet another dear friend in his life.
I began to share Louis' story to raise awareness about the difficulties of isolation during the covid-19 pandemic and just how important it is to support and love and show care about those that are closet to us, because you may not realize just how much someone is trying to juggle this thing called life.
Now I'm asking the world to show just a little bit more love and care. Imagine if we lived on a planet in which we all loved and cared about one another like Dodger and Louis have for one another. Sometimes a note, a message or a phone call mean the world to someone. So just reach out.
If you also want to help Louis, there is a gofundme link out that I have added in this description. If you wish to help that way. www.gofundme.com/f/please-help-local-hero-louis-kengi-carr
Let's rally and show Mr. Louis "Kengi" Carr some love because he deserves it.
Small watercolor painting of Dodger. My friend just lost her little chihuahua Dodger so I painted this portrait for her.

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of photographing the Arizona Diamondbacks at the Los Angeles Dodgers for three games. This was the Monday night game with Clayton Kershaw on the mound for the Dodgers. I was shooting for the Hobbs News-Sun out of Hobbs, NM. I had a couple of photos in the newspaper from the day game on Tuesday, as the evening games start time is already at the deadline for the morning edition the next day. I do provide them with photos of the evening games for the archives.

Bagel with blue cream cheese / Dodgers didn't win the series (Houston Astros did) ..no matter, I love Texas, too !
Photo taken at the Los Angelos Dodgers / Miami Marlins game at Dodger Stadium. At bat is Starlin Castro of the Miami Marlins, facing Ferguson of the Dodgers (I believe) in the 9th inning. The Dodgers ended up winning the game 9-0.
Elysian Park
Someone mentioned that this was a pretty important Dodger game. I was just worried about being in this park after nightfall.
Running very late due to early morning mechanical issues in Heavener and getting stopped by other rail traffic in Fort Smith, CPKC's Forth Smith Dodger (CPKC Train RK01-11) is approaching Poteau Oklahoma on its return run. Once the train arrives at the junction with CPKC Heavener Subdivision in Poteau the crew will tie the train down and wait for a crew van to take them back to Heavener to finish their day.
