"We should indeed keep calm in the face of difference, and live our lives in a state of inclusion and wonder at the diversity of humanity." - George Takei

(Papa Francesco)
Only the spirit can stir diversity, plurality, multiplicity and at the same time making the unit. Because when we want to make the difference we make schisms and when are we to want to make the unit do the uniformity, the approval.
(Pope Francesco)
Kanga is the 3rd of the three sisters. They all have different colors, and Kanga shows all of them combined - really cool (Squirrels-2020-1132.jpg)
Fright and hatred of 'the others' seems to be a virus that is spreading rapidly in many different ways. With this image I would like to plead for love and admiration of mankind's wonderful diversity.
Continuing the aerial series of Tasrail, to-day we see train 2-32 climbing steadily up towards Rhyndaston with TR units TR12 + TR17. The line here crosses Rhyndaston Road as the line heads uphill towards the tunnel. The journey has never been easier with the new Caterpillar units seemingly doing it effortlessly without all the huff, puff and noise of the older units that previously plied this line. This is good news for Tasrail but sad for us that remember the diversity and excitement of the older units.

I usually don't take pictures of birds at feeders, but I couldn't resist this one--three species, each with their own private "booth". The top two birds are American Goldfinches; the red-breasted bird is a House Finch; and, the bird on the right is a Black-capped Chickadee.

Standing on the side of a logging road and looking out into Vancouver Island's rain forest, one cannot help but be amazed at the diversity of nature up in the trees. You need to stand there for a while and take it all in.
"All God's creatures got a place in the choir
Some sing low and some sing higher,
Some sing out loud on a telephone wire,
Some just clap their hands, or paws, or anything they've got now"
Bill Staines "A Place In The Choir"
There is an amazing diversity in arctic plants, all minature-sized compared to their counterparts further south. Here is a colourful example from a south facing slope in late summer, Danmark Ø, Scoresby Sund, East Greenland.

Mer Bleue Bog, Greenbelt, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Due to the peat acidity and lack of minerals, most plants cannot survive in the bog, Sphagnum acts as an insulation against the sun and shortens the growing season by retaining the cold long after the snow melts. All these conditions make this area ideal for plants that are accustomed to the rigours of the North, and the peat bog has become the kingdom to plants of the Tundra.
Waldspirale, Darmstadt (Hesse, Germany)
"The Waldspirale is a residential building complex in Darmstadt, Germany, built in the 1990s. The name translates into English as forest spiral, reflecting both the general plan of the building and the fact that it has a green roof. It was designed by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, planned and implemented by architect Heinz M. Springmann, and constructed by the Bauverein Darmstadt company. The building was completed in 2000."
