The Menagerie of Fictitious Longings
Your Song
Do you know how long my heart has been singing it?
Everything grows into its own longing.
DREAM.
Time is the only song to cure wanting.
There is no randomness in amazement.
Somehow the flow of light
always remains
regardless of what I happen to do.

Handmade book: Green Animals Topiary brochure, watercolor, ink, Distress crayons, stickers, found poetry
Managed to scrape this one in with a minute or two to spare. This was inspired by a card I saw in a magazine.... it used die cuts, lace and a sentiment. I just adapted the idea to my dies, and used a stamp instead of a diecut on the background. Cut the Decorative Labels 8 and sponged on the distress while it was in the die, masked off the edges and then stamped the Silhouette grass, Found some lovely cream and brown spotted PP. Another sentiment that has been chopped in the name of stamping!!!! Just part of the whole used. Finished with a pop of colour with the yellow rose, picked up from Daisy Chain which I visited with Paula last year. So a special bit today for her scramble.
I love the PDCC colours this week theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/2010/08/play-date-cafe-chall... and decided to make a card using them which would also fit with the current challenge. A close up of one of the butterflies is here www.flickr.com/photos/38067075@N02/4913261600/.

Jenny and Jason, congratulations on your wedding day! Wishing you all of the very best as you look forward to a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness together!
I decided to try the theme suggested by Tami - something old (Congratulations stamp), something new (Fabulous Flourish stamp), something borrowed (the smaller pearls on the butterflies are borrowed off a top!), something blue (broken china distress ink).
Supplies:
Heart Winged Butterfly – F5158
Fabulous Flourish – S5449
Hearts Accent Pearls – CH173
White & stardust embossing powders, vellum, broken china distress ink, pearls.
Unfortunately it was impossible to catch the sparkle on the butterflies with the dull, cloudy day today. More details are on my blog stampingandstitching.blogspot.com/2010/10/congratulations....
I created a Christmas gift tag using a color combo from Little Tangles challenge: teal, kraft, and orange. More details at wp.me/p2pcDa-1Pb.

The glossy card I used for this is inked with spiced marmalade and worn lipstick distress inks. I used the same colours to colour in the popped butterfly. The first time I stamped the Happy Wishes stamp I didn’t stamp it very well and didn't get full coverage with the black ink. So I stamped it again on another piece of card but preferred the look of this one rather than the solid black silhouette, as I think it looks like the setting sun is glinting on parts of the flowers and grass heads – that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
A little card for the Lawnscaping challenge. Love these Lawn Fawn leaves and I thought the sentiment was a perfect match. #lawnfawn #stitchedleaves #stitchedrectangles #simonsaysstamp #thankfulheart #lawnscapingchallenge #tim_holtz #distressinks #thedaily

A quick card that uses the background technique that Shari showed this month. l loved it and couldn't wait to try it :) The only thing I did different is that I misted mine with Perfect Pearls rather than straight water. I just love the shimmer it gave.
HA: SD383, SD395, SD399 (these are kits that aren't for sale...I will try to find the actual stamp set numbers later this week)
Distress inks & Perfect Pearls
For this card I was inspired by the cards of Yana Smakula. She used some beautiful golden frames on her cards. I admire her work and I liked it to make something familiar. I remembered the filigree elements on the "Straight from the nest" cartridge of my Cricut machine. And so I cut one out of golden cardstock. And than added a beautiful Hero Arts flower. From the first time I saw this "Antique Rose Stem" I was in love with it. Don't you think it is fabulous?! I do! So, I will join the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge of this week: "Fabulous Florals".
