“She was a genius of sadness, immersing herself in it, separating its numerous strands, appreciating its subtle nuances. She was a prism through which sadness could be divided into its infinite spectrum.”

I think this wooden box was distressed when I bought it and the tiny shell I am sure had always had a whole in it. I think the shell is about 1/2 cm long.
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.”
A beautiful old canal barge full of character, clearly in need of some love and attention. Even in it's distressed state the faded vivid colours stand out, to reflect it's past glories.
This image looks to me like a map of island nations (green) with figures in distress arising from them. The title comes from the Gospel of Luke (21:25), in a passage referring to the days leading up to the Apocalypse: “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.” (KJV)

An upside down flag is a sign of distress. Today, in the United States of America, we remember those who have died to secure and defend freedom. However those freedoms are under attack. Our country, our leadership, and our people are being torn apart.
Take a moment to remember the blood, sweat, and tears shed by those who fought and died for our freedom. Take a moment to celebrate liberty.
John 12:27 “Now My soul is greatly distressed. And what should I say? ‘Father, deliver Me from this hour’? No, but for this very reason I have come to this hour.”
After last nights rain this rose has lost its petals. With a distressed metal texture. No matter their state roses are lovely. And after one Rose dies, another comes along to delight the senses. Sometimes I also get rosehips!
In the ValGrande National Park, from the top of Mount Todano m.1700 the panorama includes the Po Valley and the Lake Maggiore up to 4000s of the Monte Rosa and Mischabel massif, almost devoid of snow and dominated by a limpid sky to the bitter end, in this anomalous winter with little snowfall.
If not for our last winter being so mild - I don't think this old barn would make another season. For that matter the silo has a lean as well.
There certainly must be many stories and family history behind this old place

Ultimately, America's answer to the intolerant man is diversity.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Another week and another animal in distress due to callus human behavior of carelessly throwing garbage everywhere. Last week was a juvenile Peregrine Falcon (left photo) stuck in a plastic chicken wire mesh and this week a Great Blue Heron with a piece of orange safety fence around its neck. The fence has cut into the flesh at the back of the neck (photo in the inset) and not sure how long before the heron succumbs to its injury. The falcon managed to free itself; afterwards I removed the mesh. For the Heron the outcome could be worse. I called municipal animal control folks and they said that they would look into it. Fingers crossed.
