It was in the morning when we came upon this pride. The cubs were playing around by themselves while the parents are still asleep. Something caught the attention of this cub.

A very old (2010) selfie of a quick rest stop at the end of the Port Germein jetty which is almost a mile long. The day was cloudy with an odd shower or two, but a sudden rumble of thunder made me look around from my original posed forward gaze, and I quickly reconsidered my exposed position at the end of the long jetty.
In the absence of a small tripod, I used my wallet to prop up the front of the camera. It is a bad habit, and I have only left it sitting there once (but quickly realised and got back in time to pick it up!)

A large duck species easily identified due to their bright white and brown plumage. The birds are migratory from South Eastern Europe and much of Central Asia during winters to India. They are not so common in our state, but common in our neighbouring western state.
Found them in a shallow lake in the middle of a grassland where there was a group of 6 along with dozens of Pintails, Garganeys and Pochards. The rest of the ducks flew away by our presence, but these Shelducks stayed put cautiously and after a short while ignored us entirely. The birds were chasing each other and seemed to have fun for a short while. The presence of 3 large raptors distracted us and the birds which flocked together to probably feel more secure.

This is one of a series of photos I took of Sethi earlier this week when he relaxed on my sister's living room table. He was an unusually cooperative photo model that day but here he was distracted by Tofu who played with a toy mouse under the table. Sethi gets along with all the other cats but generally prefers to be alone.
I let Bella inspect my tape measure, for a photo of her with numbers. But she thought a bird just outside the window was more exciting. Happy Caturday.
I was taken by the details of the blossom, but then distracted by the curves of the stem and the leaves. Seems like this might be a trend. The product of a multi-image focus stack, this should reward looking at it as large as you can.

The Cuypershuis in Roermond, The Netherlands, is the former home and workshop of architect and designer Pierre Cuypers (1827 -1921). And now a museum in honour of his life and work.
This was taken at an exhibition on Cuypers' work on the restauration of the Munsterkerk in Roermond. However, my eyes were caught by the exhibition materials and their game with light and shadows.

I'm trying to get caught up with over a year of photos that I haven't edited or posted ... and LOOK WHAT I FOUND in my photos! Oh my, I completely forgot this experience and getting to take a few shots of this beautiful Cooper's Hawk. I was over in my hood looking for ducks with babies on Lake Ivanhoe. This raptor was hanging out on the shore where seven young Mallard ducklings with both parents were swimming ... trying to avoid his inevitable attack. I think I distracted him, so he just took a quick bath and I kinda sorta scootched him away from all the babies. Have you ever seen such a beauty taking a bath?!?!? Thank you, Jesus, for not only taking this shot, but finding it in my many archives.
