I aligned the assembled disk drives using my Microtest unit. The drive is connected (using the adapter I made) as the B: drive on the Amstrad laptop computer. The Microtest unit is connected to the serial port on that machine and to the testpoints on the disk drive.

Amazingly the Microtest software included the Osborne drive in its lists so it was no problem to use it.
