Between Nakano and Koenji
I love this piece that makes it obvious that those "cherries" are DISK's work.

A nicely made rotating-disk-with-shaped-pegs optical illusion. It's tuned to a rapidly blinking strobe light, giving the illusion that the disk doesn't rotate but the blobs change shape

This is the best app around to see how the space is used on your hard drive. You can zoom in and out on folders, delete files directly from the app and rescan single folders at a time...
From a (not so) past era comes this engineering beauty. It's disk is as small a 1€, it's format is Compact flash and it's total capacity was 4Gb. This one is from an iPod Mini teardown. The iPod Mini was designed when physical micro harddisk where cheaper than 4Gb on a chip (SSD). Today pocket memories are so common that you can get any USB pen about 32Gb for less than 30€.

Ringo on drums! MPZT tax code in dead wax. You can just about see the 'P' and the 'T' embossed next to the center hole. A website (jpgr.co.uk) stated that this code was first introduced on November 26th, 1962 and replaced by 'MT' on January 1st 1963. So, this record was not an early batch - these would have the letters 'Z' & 'T' next to the hole. Most importantly, my copy is in very nice shape.
This sort of image takes a while to perfect the right timing of releasing the drops and firing the flash. A lot of my shots have nothing in them, but every once in a while, I get lucky and something special happens!
Timing is everything with this subject. I must have released two drops very close together. The first one impacted the water surface and the second one slammed into the rebound column being formed just as it was starting to rise up and it was slightly off to the back side and that's why its at an angle.
Shot using a Tokina AT-X 90mm f2.5 Macro lens.
The segments were trimmed with a knife and sandpapered with fine grit.
Put together loosely. The contrasting disk is ok but the All-Black is out a big bit.
