This was back in June on our trip through Central Oregon. This unique site is waaaaay out in the middle of nowhere. When I finally got there, I was disappointed that there was this blinding white haze hanging from the sky and was afraid all the pictures would be crap. That's what they looked like on the LCD screen. But the haze actually let some of the subtleties of the color variations come out.

I think I would also be pretty disappointed if I was only given a Brussels sprout for breakfast

bit disappointed with the focus but I had about 3 minutes with no tripod to have two attempts at this as the party of people I was with wanted to move on but I like it anyway so I'll forgive myself. the effect comes from the light flashing and turning.

Fontaine de Vaucluse is one of the most visited places in the Luberon and I had been there 40 years ago.

I wanted to see it again and was very disappointed. The starting village is pretty, but with too many people it was difficult to park.

We then go up by a path along a torrent to arrive at a resurgence from which I remember the water which rushed out powerfully.

This time, in the middle of summer, the top of the site was almost completely dry. Lower down, we find again the power of the torrent and the water, but alas, the site has been victim of its success : practically no more nature, the most beautiful location was privatized by a restaurant terrace, and a horrible store while concrete had been built on the bottom of the site.

A real disaster, I was outraged.

Fontaine de Vaucluse - un site saccagé

Fontaine de Vaucluse est un des lieux les plus visités du Luberon et j'y avais été il y a 40 ans. J'ai voulu le revoir et ai été très déçu. Le village de départ est joli, bien qu'avec beaucoup trop de monde, on a eu du mal à se garer. On monte ensuite par un chemin le long d'un torrent pour arriver jusqu'à une résurgence d'où je me souviens de l'eau qui jaillissait puissante.

Cette fois-ci, en plein été, le haut du site était pratiquement complètement assèché. Plus bas, on retrouve la puissance du torrent et de l'eau, mais hélas, le site a été victime de son succès : pratiquement plus de nature, le plus bel emplacement était privatisé par une terrasse de restaurant, et un horrible magasin tout en béton avait été construit sur le bas du site. Un vrai désastre, j'en ai été indigné.

Feeling both of these, disappointed because the event I was going to photograph in this barbershop today was cancelled, and relieved because yesterday evening I had a little chainsaw accident and nicked one of my fingers. Going to Nogales on the Mexican border I am always on the lookout for beautiful Gray Hawks and this time I was not disappointed!

On the 8th of February I travelled to get a picture of one of my favourite mountain ranges I was not disappointed. An Teallach can be viewed from a good distance but I like this view taken right beside the main road as you head to Dundonnell. I was very pleased to see some snow on it. If you keep going on this road you will reach places like Laide, Aultbea, kinlochewe and Gairloch.

I have my new computer now and I like it, much faster and Windows 10!!

Drystone walls are great aren't they! So much effort to stop your flock (or herd) buggering off on their hols.

Disappointed to say I couldn't fit Shutlingsloe in this one either. It's there somewhere to my left! And that's The Roaches and Hen Cloud way off in the distance. HFF everyone!

While Cleo was busy with her long-eared friend, the boys were busy observing the doggies in the neighbour's garden. Both of them were obviously waiting for the dogs to attack the fence again and the Dragon hid behind his brother, just in case .... Surprisingly nothing happened. It seems that Cleo's attack from earlier this week has really made an impression on the dogs, at least for the moment I think Fynn was even a tiny weeny bit disappointed that the dogs didn't do what he thought they would do. :)

I was a bit disappointed last night when I went to log in on Flickr and found the Internet was totally down in my area and service didn't return until about midnight when I was getting ready for bed. I had such great photos to share yesterday too, but you'll have to be happy with the pictures I took today. This is the first young red-bellied woodpecker to show up here at Lake Meyer Park this year. I was surprised to see this handsome little guy already has some reddish feathers growing in on his belly!

Disappointed that I wasn't making a grab for Roger Rabbit (that's Roger's foot under Jasper's chin) Jasper looks to his female human for support, and more importantly, play.

I continue this project with the doll and emotions ...
