Up early to catch the sunrise over the water today and feeling disappointed that there was not the huge display of colour of previous mornings. However the light increased to reveal beautiful pastel tones which combined with the still air to produce an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
Beautiful vaccination centre all dolled up to serve you. But closed, no vaccine. 😥😥😥
Thankfully with the arrival of more vaccines the centre has reopened.

Went to Snapper Rocks today to capture some wave action and was not disappointed with this one showing the awesome power in the huge moving wall of water against the Surfers Paradise skyline in the distance.

This male kingfisher waited for his bride but somehow she didn't show up for the date. Disappointed he finally flew away....
As there was a Sparrow Hawk in the region she may have been caught....

I was disappointed that the day I got to visit Dartmoor National Park in Devon, UK was filled with mist and low visibility. But actually, the mist only accentuated the magical bleakness of the landscape.

Feeling both of these, disappointed because the event I was going to photograph in this barbershop today was cancelled, and relieved because yesterday evening I had a little chainsaw accident and nicked one of my fingers. It really isn't bad, all the same I am glad I can stay home and take it easy.

As I was packing for vacation last week, Elsie thought she was going with us. I patiently explained to her that she wasn't, and even if she was, the suitcase, as comfy as it was, was not how I would have her traveling. She would have had a first class ticket.
The one sim I called my home...
and yet, as a lot of beautiful created sims,
it will disappear… 😞
You can still visit it for a few days....
then all of this beauty will go...
but not in my heart....

I tried something a little different and went to Corfe Castle in Dorset over the weekend.
Corfe Castle was built by William the Conqueror in the 11th Century, and was upgraded in both the 12th and 13th Centuries. It sits just above Corfe in a gap in the Purbeck Hills. Corfe was the Saxon word for cut, or cut within the hill. Corfe town sits just below the castle and can be seen in the right lower half of the image. Unfortunately, the castle was destroyed / dismantled by Cromwell's parliamentarians during the English Civil War after it was besieged in 1645.
I went to Corfe hoping to capture the iconic image of the castle ruin poking above the mist. The weather forecast was mist but I was left disappointed, but I was still able to capture this image, which I like. It gives the castle an ancient and eerie atmosphere.

When I took this portrait, first I was a bit disappointed to find this fly on the head of this beautiful bearded vulture which refused to leave the bird. But when I later watched the pictures, I found this one was the best of all. It still makes me smile when ever I watch it...

Juvenile Eastern Kingbird at Kardon Park in Chester County. I was disappointed by the lack of dragonflies today, but nature always seems to provide unexpected surprises like this young kingbird posing in beautiful soft light.

I was a bit disappointed last night when I went to log in on Flickr and found the Internet was totally down in my area and service didn't return until about midnight when I was getting ready for bed. I had such great photos to share yesterday too, but you'll have to be happy with the pictures I took today. This is the first young red-bellied woodpecker to show up here at Lake Meyer Park this year. I was surprised to see this handsome little guy already has some reddish feathers growing in on his belly!

Je suis arrivée sur Flickr en 2008 et dés le début j'ai fait connaissance avec Diane qui était au Canada et moi en Suisse, nous avons très vite sympathisé, on s'écrivait beaucoup et on se parlait par téléphone parfois aussi étant francophones les deux.
Elle était Admin avec moi dans plusieurs groupes.
Elle va beaucoup me manquer tous les jours.
Je pense bien fort à son mari Gilles qui vient de m'appeler pour m'annoncer cette triste nouvelle et à sa famille.
Elle restera dans nos coeurs pour toujours.

A delicate purple crocus to remember our friend Diane G., who passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, from pneumonia.
I joined Flickr in 2008, and right from the start, I connected with Diane, who was in Canada while I was in Switzerland. We quickly became friends, writing to each other often and sometimes speaking on the phone, as we were both French speakers.
She was an admin with me in several groups.
I will miss her dearly every day.
My thoughts are with her husband, Gilles, who just called to tell me this sad news, and with her family.
She will remain in our hearts forever
Disappointed that I wasn't making a grab for Roger Rabbit (that's Roger's foot under Jasper's chin) Jasper looks to his female human for support, and more importantly, play.
The Dragon can look terribly disappointed and reproachful when you ask him to do something he doesn't want to do. In that case he was in the garden and I had called him because I wanted him to come back indoors but he had other plans. While most other cats would simply ignore me in such a situation, the Dragon usually does what I want him to do but he makes clear that he doesn't approve.
