How many of us have a, "memory lane up in the headlights"? I have so many, good times with my family fishing and hiking up in the Sierra Nevada mountains. We actually took this road once just to see what is out there and to see if the fishing was any good. It wasn't but the time spent together was worth now that I look at it.
Ain't it funny how rumors spread
Like I know something ya'll don't know
Man that talk is getting old
Man mind your business watch your mouth
Before I have to knock your loud mouth out
I'm tired of talking man ya'll ain't listenin'
Them old dirt roads is what ya'll missin'
A good lesson in keeping your perspective is: Take your job seriously but don't take ... A little perspective, like a little humor, goes a long way.........

It just doesn’t seem right to have to pay for dirt. I do like these big dump trucks though. The small center wheels are frequently off the ground when the truck dumps a load. Then they are back on the ground when they are driving. HTT
Behind some dirty facade hides an idyll. Beyond mirrored facades of modern buildings in our cities, there are places that remind us that nature and human beings belong together. In a perfect world, we will not survive. Because we ourselves are not perfect.
Union Pacific's LDP45 02 'Dirt Train' navigates the Farnham Line Change between Mounds and Wash, Utah the afternoon of Nov. 2, 2007.
A year ago at Pungo Lake a bonus was seeing tens of thousands of Snow geese as well as the thousands of Tundra Swans. What fun it was to see them together foraging in corn fields with the relatively sedate Swans lingering in the fields while tens of thousands of Snow geese would intermittently take off explosively and then settle back down into the fields again and again. We were fortunate that the management at this wildlife refuge had just taken down a portion of corn field next to a dirt road so we had front row seats to the late afternoon/evening show. I will post another image showing that spectacle.
Thanks for visiting and for your comments especially and your favs!
Driving through the wetlands of Seney National Wildlife Refuge in Michigan's upper peninsula. This 7-mile long, one-way, loop road is best walked or bicycled to enjoy an up-close experience. Due to its location in a remote area, it has few visitors to interfere with your visit.
What remains of a once prosperous farm near tiny Argo Fay,IL.This lonely road back to this forgotten farm stretches nearly a quarter mile and crosses a stream without the aid of a bridge....
Sometimes it pays to take these dirt roads-this old barn is a treasure trove of old cars and vintage farm machinery....
