made from reclaimed hardwood floor, some 2x3's, and some leftover fancy teak table legs from the Kayu Teak table
A drop leaf table made from English ash with white lacquered leaves to add contrast and texture.
The legs use sliding dovetail joints to attach to the table top and they have a narrow spread to maximise leg room for diners around the table.
The diametre of the table is 120cm.
The ash is finished with Osmo Raw polyx-oil
Rice is almost non-existent in Tbilisi- I was really missing rice and it was only on the third day that I even managed to catch the local vernacular for rice- brinji. Well, once I knew that, I was able to find brinji in a local cafe but with great difficulty. This rather upmarket restaurant didn't have it though! Bread is the way to go in Georgia. Khachapuri (the cheese filled bread- see previous pictures in the album as well as the next picture) is of course ubiquitous, but if you are ordering a full meal, you also get a terrific 'tandoori' bread like the one seen here. It's super tasty, especially when piping hot, and usually has an elongated shape like seen here, Too bad I polished off half of one of the breads before it came to my head to photograph it! Probably that's what happens when you finally sit down to lunch at 16:30! (Tbilisi, Georgia, Sept. 2016)

We looked for a bit to find a table that would work not only as a dining table, but also a large work table for laying out architectural plans or working on larger sewing projects. We sold our swedish mid-century set and bought this Strut table from BluDot. It is perfect! Works for all our needs, fits well and handles almost all our 3-year old throws at it.
We made this before we got married from a donated dining table. It took a bit of elbow grease with the aid of a heat gun to strip the original finish off, but we got it done. Simple concept but a lot of fun!

Chair Detail - Side View:
This table and chairs were bought from pottery barn several years ago.
The table is a pair of metal trestles and a plank top. The plank rests atop the trestles making for very easy storage.
The chairs are heavy metal frames with wicker panels and fold, again for easy storage.
