This room is almost finished. I got a new cabinet which I painted Down Pipe from Farrow & Ball - love it. Table is our old Ikea table which looks nice enough. The chairs I got from Ebay for around 30 Euro each, score. I might paint them all white some day. Still to do: Sand floors, decide whether to paint walls an actual color or not.
I finally finished the last permanent shelf diorama, I may do a few tweaks here & there, but basically I'm done. The new shelf is bigger than the last one, so I added a couple of pieces of furniture, but the ceiling is a little bit lower, so I had to redo the stuff on top of the cabinets. I decided to give the room brick walls & a new floor. I miscalculated how much flooring & wall covering I needed, so there's nothing under or behind the cabinets. If I ever decide to move things around, I'll have to redo it, so it's going to be a long time until I do this again LOL. The old version of the kitchen is in the album.

this is the first time in our married life of over 40 years that we have had a dedicated dining space. And I think I'm going to have some fun photographing with the mirror. I find it hard to gauge colour, tone . . . indeed anything on my laptop and have to go to my Ipad to see if what I have uploaded is okay. I can't wait to be reunited with my monitor. The builder has found a damp patch in my "to be" study, so I hope this doesn't keep me away from flickr any longer than a few days. Peter's room is finished and he is thrilled.
I am sorry to be away from flickr, but find the conditions in the kitchen too difficult to work for longer than a quick upload. Again, many thanks to those of you who still visit, and I look forward to visiting your photostreams as soon as I am established in my room . . .
finally pulled the trigger and painted our dining room. been enjoying getting things put back up. loving our new light fixture.

Sonneveld House in Rotterdam is one of the best-preserved houses in the style of Het Nieuwe Bouwen. The detached villa from 1933 was designed by architectural firm Brinkman and Van der Vlugt on behalf of Albertus Sonneveld, one of the directors of the Van Nelle factory. The architects designed a total concept in which architecture, interior and design are meticulously coordinated and reinforce each other.

On camera flash and one strobe at the left
The sun is standing low this time of year, had 2 huge windows on the west.
Had trouble handling it! Suggestions?
I only have on camera flash Sony (56) and 2 YN560
Should I use more strobes to handle it better?
If yes where to place them?

The diningroom for family (they were 10, he, Alice, 2 sons Monet and 4 daughters + 2 sons Hoschede) and friends in yellow
I looked at the original and thought, there is a better photo in that photo if I crop it. Here is the crop. What do you think? The original is in the comments.
We went to dinner at Steak 44 for my birthday. On 44th Street just north of Camelback Road. One of our favorite restaurants. I like nice, elegant restaurants with dress codes when I eat a special meal..
"High-end steakhouse featuring gourmet filets, seafood & classic entrees in an elegant, modern venue." www.steak44.com/
Steak 44 is part of the Mastro Family of restaurants. They also operate Ocean 44 in Scottsdale. They also operate several Steak 48 Steakhouses (a tribute to Arizona being the 48th State to enter the Union), Dominick's Steakhouse, and maybe others with which I am not familiar.
I took my wife out on our first date to the private room at the Cork N' Cleaver back in May 1978. And we are still going here today. I had no idea that date would turn out so well.

For my video; youtu.be/akjjnMj8GgA,
The Palace of Sintra (Portuguese: Palácio Nacional de Sintra), also called Town Palace (Palácio da Vila), is located in the town of Sintra, in the Lisbon District of Portugal. It is a present-day historic house museum.
It is the best-preserved medieval royal residence in Portugal, being inhabited more or less continuously from at least the early 15th century to the late 19th century. It is a significant tourist attraction, and is part of the cultural landscape of Sintra, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Ferdinand II adapted the former refectory of the convent and its 16th century Manueline vaulted ribbed ceiling into the private royal family Dining Room.
Worthy of note is the table, functionally adaptable to different daily needs, with its round smallest format but extendible so as to seat around 24 diners.
The table is set, exhibiting a set of plates from a porcelain dinner service that has been in the palace ever since monarchical times as well as crystal glasses in various colours and bearing the royal crown. The fruit bowls at the centre of the tables contain fruits and flowers of that period laid out in the same arrangements as used during the times of the Royal Family.
In the pantry cupboard, there are two of the (19th century) dinner services belonging to Ferdinand II, each bearing the king’s monogram: one by Vista Alegre, with a green-blue border, and the other by Pickman, Seville, with a blue border. In the centre, the Limoges (Haviland) service, in white porcelain, was commissioned during the reign of Carlos I.
