Devin Garrett Townsend è un cantante, chitarrista e produttore discografico canadese.
Artista dalle ampie vedute musicali nonché estremamente prolifico, ha raggiunto la notorietà con Steve Vai, per il quale nel 1993 ha cantato nell'album Sex & Religion, e con agli Strapping Young Lad, attivi tra la metà degli anni novanta e la metà degli anni duemila.
Townsend è anche a capo della HevyDevy Records, etichetta discografica da lui fondata. I qualità di produttore discografico, ha collaborato a dischi di noti gruppi metal come Lamb of God, Soilwork, Darkest Hour e Stuck Mojo.

He has mean faces but he is all about being over-the-top. In between songs, he joked with crowd. "Are you ready for heavy metal rhetoric?" he asked on time.
