Four pages of written notice by the city of Liège conclude: end of life approaching for this house. Typical features show it originates from a distant past. Taylor made stone blocks, arched window beneath a wooden beam. The wood completely bent, tired of bearing its burden. Malformation causes severe pressure and many cracks in the old window glass. Six replaced, endless job. Windows are dirty but still allowing sunlight to peep in. Reversely curved hangs an old telephone cable, connection long lost. The broken stone beneath the window reveals part of the wooden frame for interior plaster and a tiny bit of insulation.
The sidewalk leads slightly uphill to the front door. Cobwebs indicate it hasn't been open for a long time. Looking at the door sill, many visitors must have passed it, though. Four redundant iron bars above it, once destined to make the house burglar proof. Apart from some graffiti around the corner, the last paint job likely occurred sometime in the previous century.
