The dark green notice reads:

"Do not urinate In this area.

This area is under CCTV surveillance

You could be fined £75.

Please respect the residents."

Perhaps some people choose a dank partly hidden corner to avoid offending local residents.

Or because they're less likely to be captured on camera and fined. Although there are some closed circuit TV cameras in the area, none appear to point into this little nook.

The well-established dark green mould and wet trails suggest the warning didn't work.
