A look inside one of the companies in Van Nelle's design factory. This is Sana Commerce. A website focused E-commerce company. The Gispen lamps have remained, as have the benches with the raditor in between, not to mention the old-fashioned floor tarpaulin. Whether the clocks are also from the Van Nelle era I dare not say. Viewing the same size - by pressing the 'L' key.

Four glazed elevated transport bridges connecting the factory block with the expedition and warehouse buildings across the factory street.
The Van Nelle Factory, built in 1925-31 for the refining and packing processes of coffee, tea and tobacco, is the result of a thorough analysis of technical functions of this specific factory (raw products were taken to the top floor of the factory buildings to move down a floor after each stage of processing) and of improving the social aspects ('human element') of working in a factory and also of an intensive co-operation between the principal (C.H. van der Leeuw, a confirmed theosophist) and the architects J.A. Brinkman (1902-1949) & L.C. van der Vlugt (1894-1936), assisted by architect Mart Stam (1899-1986) and contractor J.G. Wiebenga (1886-1974), all dedicated to the 'Nieuwe Bouwen' (the Dutch branch of the international Modern Movement).
The Van Nelle Factory is an imposing building of inestimable cultural and historical value, having the status of a nationally protected monument and being included on the UNESCO World Heritage list. From the outside the building is monumental, but inside it is innovative and modern. It was designed around the concepts of light, air and space, inspired by the 'new building' philosophy of the past. The transparent architecture and the abundant windows turn the building into a work of art. The tea-room on the roof and the diagonal overhead walkways are characteristic elements. For many years these buildings were factories producing coffee, tea and tobacco. In the mid 1990s the factories were closed, and renovation work started in 1998. Nowadays they house inspiring offices and business workspaces for the creative sector, hence its modern name: Design Factory.

The buildings were designed by architect Leendert van der Vlugt from the Brinkman & Van der Vlugt office in cooperation with civil engineer J.G. Wiebenga, at that time a specialist for constructions in reinforced concrete, and built between 1925 and 1931. It is an example of Nieuwe Bouwen, modern architecture in the Netherlands.
The Van Nelle Factory is a Dutch national monument (Rijksmonument) and is on the list of sites under consideration for the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Justification of Outstanding Universal Value will be presented 2013 to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.

Milled from a solid slab of aluminium.
For me, grip is a bit slim considering the weight and the lanyard position makes it slightly awkward to hold.
