The Inntel Hotel in Zaandam/Netherlands is definitely the main attraction of the city but also of the whole country.
The twelve-storey-high hotel tower with 160 rooms is a stacking and interpretation of various green-painted house types typical of the Zaan region, ranging from a stately notary’s dwelling to worker’s cottages. ‘The Blue House’ has been inspired by the work Claude Monet painted at Zaandam in 1871.
Construction finished in 2010, design by WAM architecten.

Glory bush, Lasiandra or princess flower (Tibouchina urvilleana), a native of Brazil, grown widely as a garden plant.
The flower has 10 stamens. Five stamens are longer than the others. The pollen is released from a pore at the tip of the anthers which are the clawlike ends of the stamens. The anthers also act as a landing pad for bees which in the wild pollinate the flowers by buzz pollination which involves the bee grabbing onto the flower and moving their flight muscles rapidly, causing the flower and anthers to vibrate, dislodging pollen.
The style and stigma extend beyond the anthers.

Not far from the Binding Brewery in Frankfurt am Main stands a building that clearly stands out from the rest of the buildings in the Sachsenhausen district: the Sonnenring. It is one of the buildings designed by architect Günther Balser, was built between 1969 and 1975, and is considered to be an example of brutalist architecture.
Unweit des Standortes der Binding Brauerei in Frankfurt am Main steht ein Gebäude, das sich deutlich von der übrigen Bebauung im Stadtteil Sachsenhausens abhebt: Der Sonnenring. Er zählt zu den Bauten des Architekten Günther Balser, entstand in der Zeit von 1969 bis 1975 und wird dem Architekturstil Brutalismus zugerechnet.

This is part of the kitchen "splashback" panel behind my cooker. A repeating pattern featuring colourful spices HSSC! We chose this design because (a) it's colourful & cooking related and (b) it doesn't show any greasy splashes so rarely needs cleaning 😊
A paper bag you get when you buy croissants or pain au chocolat in France. Never seen such wonderful bags here !

Just waiting in the early morning light......
SV Tenacious is a unique tall ship designed for inclusivity, allowing both disabled and non-disabled individuals to sail together as crew members.
Launched in 2000, SV Tenacious is the largest wooden tall ship built in the UK in over a century. It was designed by Tony Castro and constructed by the Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) to accommodate a mixed-ability crew. The ship features innovative designs such as wheelchair lifts, a speaking compass, and adjustable furniture, enabling everyone to participate fully in sailing activities.
Specifications:
Length: 65 meters (213 feet) including the bowsprit
Beam: 10.6 meters (34 feet 9 inches)
Displacement: Approximately 714 tons
Rigging: Three-masted barque with two mizzen gaffs
Maiden Voyage: The ship's first journey was from Southampton to Sark, St Helier, and Weymouth on September 1, 2000.
As of now, the ship is currently for sale, and there is an ongoing campaign to raise awareness and find a new owner or organization that can operate her sustainably. The Save Tall Ship Tenacious campaign aims to ensure that the ship continues to provide opportunities for mixed-ability sailing.
