The wildebeest also called the gnu is an antelope in the genus Connochaetes native to Eastern and Southern Africa. It belongs to the family Bovidae, which includes antelopes, cattle, goats, sheep, and other even-toed horned ungulates.
Connochaetes includes two species, both native to Africa: the black wildebeest or white-tailed gnu (C. gnou), and the blue wildebeest or brindled gnu (C. taurinus).
In East Africa, the blue wildebeest is the most abundant big-game species; some populations perform an annual migration to new grazing grounds, but the black wildebeest is merely nomadic. Breeding in both takes place over a short period of time at the end of the rainy season and the calves are soon active and are able to move with the herd, a fact necessary for their survival. Nevertheless, some fall prey to large carnivores, especially the spotted hyena.
Wildebeest often graze in mixed herds with zebra, which gives heightened awareness of potential predators. They are also alert to the warning signals emitted by other animals such as baboons.
Some illegal hunting goes on but the population trend is fairly stable and some populations are in national parks or on private land. The International Union for Conservation of Nature lists both as least-concern species. – Wikipedia
“Delta Ruins” digital infrared photo I took in 2020 of the solar energy project that turned out to be a sham & tax fraud.
This elaborate project was deemed a fraud in 2018, and the company which produced them was fined some 50 million dollars.
Still, the remains of the array remain at the site, rusty and gutted. Many of the plastic panels are hanging from their ends or are missing completely. ☀️ 🌞 ⛅️

Adults measure 8-10 millimeters in length, and can be identified by the yellow triangle on the pronotum, which resembles the defensive coloration of many wasps and has been theorized to act as Batesian mimicry.

My daughter and I recently made a trip to Wyoming. The hike to Delta Lake was an elevation gain of over 2400 ft to the lake's elevation of 9,000 ft. It was the most challenging, yet rewarding hike that I have ever done. The view at the top was certainly well worth the effort.

Baboons are some of the world’s largest monkeys. The baboon, like other Old World monkeys, does not have a prehensile (gripping) tail, but it is still able to climb when necessary.
All baboons have dog–like noses, powerful jaws, sharp canine teeth, and thick fur. The male baboon also has a ruff—a longer mane around its neck.
The Chacma Baboon (Papio ursinus), also known as the Cape baboon, is, like all other baboons, from the Old World monkey family.
The Chacma Baboon is perhaps the longest species of monkey, with a male body length of 20–45 in (50–115 cm) and tail length of 18–33 in (45–84 cm). It also one of the heaviest; the male weighs from 46–99 lb (21–45 kg) with an average of 70 lb (31.8 kg). The smaller female Chacma weighs from 26–55 lb (12–25 kg), with an average of 34 lb (15.4 kg).
The chacma baboon is omnivorous with a preference for fruits, while also eating insects, seeds, grass, smaller vertebrate animals, and fungi (the desert truffle Kalaharituber pfeilii). Located primarily in southern Africa, the chacma baboon has a wide variety of social behaviors, including a dominance hierarchy, collective foraging, adoption of young by females, and friendship pairings.

My dreamed sunrise in the Delta of the river Ebro -Tarragona-.
The previous day, a local man explained to me a perfect location for enjoy the photograph of this beautiful land.
I consulted the parameters that night and everything was correct to travel there.
The truth is that I was impressed to get to that place, I put on my waders running to get me asap and do not lose the time.
The sun had not yet risen, the water reached my waist, good temperature, soft wind, a lot of clouds and fog surrounding the horizon, made the conditions were the best.
Many photos I've seen of this place is that in photoshop blur the horizon line with the clone tool, but there was fog and with long exposure, completely erased.
It seemed that I was doing a photo shoot in the same heaven.
I think for many more times to return to this place, I can never find anything so perfect.
This is the photo shoot I most enjoyed in recent years, have a set of at least seven impressive images.
On the technical side, say that I only used a neutral gradient three steps filter.
I hope you like it. Have a nice Wednesday. :)
