Valdemudo es uno de los enclaves mas interesantes de Canal. En él se ubicó una venta - La Venta Nueva o de Valdemudo - que servía tanto a los operarios y marinos del Canal como a los pastores trashumantes de la Cañada Real Leonesa. Junto a ella se levantaban almacenes de servicio y una inclusa de prevención, esto es, un barracón para albergar a los presidiarios que trabajaban en el Canal de Castilla.

Ícaro hijo del arquitecto Dédalo, que mostró a Ariadna como Teseo podía encontrar el el camino en el laberinto de Minos.
Teseo, fue capaz de matar al Minotauro. Minos padre del monstruo, muy molesto encerró a Dédalo y a su hijo en el laberinto. Con la intención de huir, Dédalo fabricó una alas de madera para el y su hijo. Las adhirió con cera a los hombros de Ícaro y luego en los suyos e iniciaron el vuelo. El padre advirtió a su hijo que no volara nin demasiado bajo ni alto. Ícaro fascinado por lo maravilloso del vuelo se elevó por los aires desobedeciendo a Dedalo. Ícaro se sintió dueño del mundo. Se acercó demasiado al sol y el calor derritió la cera de sus alas, por lo que las perdió y acabó precipitándose al mar. Desde entonces ese mar se conoció como el Mar de Icaria

Il Gattopardo è un romanzo di Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa che narra le trasformazioni avvenute nella vita e nella società in Sicilia durante il Risorgimento, dal momento del trapasso del regime borbonico alla transizione unitaria del Regno d'Italia, seguita alla spedizione dei Mille di Garibaldi. Dopo i rifiuti delle principali case editrici italiane (Mondadori, Einaudi, Longanesi), l'opera fu pubblicata postuma da Feltrinelli nel 1958, un anno dopo la morte dell'autore, vincendo il Premio Strega nel 1959, e diventando uno dei best-seller del secondo Dopoguerra; è considerato uno tra i più grandi romanzi di tutta la letteratura italiana e mondiale.
Il romanzo fu adattato nell'omonimo film del 1963, diretto da Luchino Visconti e interpretato da Burt Lancaster, Claudia Cardinale e Alain Delon.
Le pagine del manoscritto originale sono custodite presso il Museo del Gattopardo a Santa Margherita di Belice (AG) e furono cedute da Gioacchino Lanza Tomasi al comune.

Palazzo Filangeri di Cutò, meglio conosciuto come Palazzo del Gattopardo. Quasi completamente distrutto durante il terremoto (si salvò solamente la facciata), è stato in seguito parzialmente ricostruito ed oggi è la sede del Municipio, del Museo del Gattopardo, dell'Istituzione Parco Letterario Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa e del Teatro Sant'Alessandro.

RASTROJO en TIEDRA.
Tiedra es un pequeño pueblo de la provincia de Valladolid que cuenta en la actualidad, y según los datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística, con una población de 283 habitantes. En el lugar son más los apicultores que se lanzan a la aventura de hacer miel, de un sabor exquisito y es un municipio que se caracteriza por sus extensos campos de lavanda.
El color de un malva intenso y el olor de un penetrante efecto balsámico. Así son esos campos de lavanda de la localidad pucelana que tiene su propia Provenza. El mes de julio que acabamos de estrenar es el mejor momento para hacer una visita.
Quizás, estos campos de lavanda, no sean tan conocidos como los que se ubican en Brihuega, en Guadalajara, pero no tienen menos belleza. Se trata de cultivos de lavanda que han cobrado un gran auge en los últimos años en la comarca de los Montes Torozos de Valladolid.
Aquí nos encontramos con dos variedades: la lavanda y el lavandín, que hacen furor en el mes de julio entre los apasionados de la aromaterapia y, también y por qué no decirlo de los mejores selfies. Es un lugar precioso para hacerse una foto en las calurosas tardes de verano. No hay un sitio más bonito que en medio de un campo de lavanda estallado en flor.
Tiedra va por delante
En todo lo que tiene que ver con la lavanda, Tiedra podríamos decir, sin miedo a equivocarnos, que va por delante. El pueblo pucelano comenzó hace 17 años con una pequeña explotación, buscando alternativas al cultivo de cereal, y ahora son más de 400 las hectáreas que dedica a la lavanda. Cada año suma alguna más.
Entre foto y foto en esos campos morados, conviene pasarse por el Centro de Interpretación de Lavanda de Tiedra que pasa por ser el primero en España dedicado a la lavanda y que se encuentra justo a la entrada de la localidad.
Pasa por ser la mejor manera de sacar jugo a este cultivo que, para muchos, es desconocido. Haciendo una visita podemos responder preguntas cómo los usos de esta planta o también disfrutar con sus aromas.
Junto al edificio nos encontramos con una destilería dedicada a la extracción de aceites esenciales. Campos de lavanda pasa por ser uno de ellos, de ensayo de variedades.
El mundo del selfie y las mejores fotografías
Una vez visitado el Centro de Interpretación de Lavanda, en el que pueden completarse también visitas guiadas, de una hora aproximadamente, merece la pena hacerse una fotografía para inmortalizar la visita en estos bellos campos morados.
Visitarlos al caer la tarde es la mejor opción. Por la influencia de la luz. Ahí nos podemos hacer cientos de fotos, pero habrá que tener cuidado ya que es la hora a la que las abejas bajan a visitar sus colmenas, y en la zona hay unas cuantas.
Tiedra y sus campos de lavanda. Una parada obligada para este verano con el fin de disfrutar de un paisaje mágico y hacerse las mejores fotografías posibles.

A lovely German couple sit in companionable silence within the grounds of the Summer home of Agatha Christie. The quotation is from the front of her book, Kollaps (Collapse) : How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed by Jared Diamond, who identifies five factors that contribute to collapse : climate change, hostile neighbours, collapse of essential trading partners, environmental problems, and the society's response to the foregoing four factors. It was nice to see these two reading and not on iPhone's or tablets. I found it very refreshing and gives me hope for the world … I don't know why, but it just did. They had no need to be openly demonstrative. Their love was tangible. They seemed, to me, to be the epitome of something that the world is rapidly losing and I wanted to capture the essence of that. I find that, for me, I can rarely relax and be myself except in the silence of my own company or when I am in nature. For me the world is often too big; too noisy; too crowded and overwhelming. Wish that there was none of the problems covered in this lady's book. How calm she seems while reading about such chaos. I remember my father saying to never judge a book by it's cover. Perhaps she has inner turmoil, but somehow I do not think so and actually I really hope her life is every bit as beautiful as I perceived it to be and his too.

Era el año 1962 cuando mi padre que alquilaba coches con conductor para las grandes superproduciones que se empazaban a rodar en el desierto de tabernas y otros paisajes de Almeria como por ejemplo Mojacar y San Jose
por aquel entonces Almeria era la provincia mas pobre y atrasada de España por su carácter semidesértico cosa que cambio radicalmente gracias a los invernaderos que surten de frutas y hortalizas especialmente en invierno a gran parte de Europa y al Turismo
En aquel año de 1962 visitando con el director de exteriores de la producion Lauwerence de arabia encontraron mojacar
un pequeñísimo pueblo que al estar escondido entre montañas pasaba desapercibido y que en ese año aun las mujeres se escondían de las miradas de los forasteros, en la playa solo existían torres de vigilancia musulmanas en estado semiruinoso y nada mas.
con seis años yo recorri por primera vez la zona y ya nunca deje de hacerlo hasta la actualidad ,aunque ya no ese ese lugar apartado de todo y virgen aun sigue conservando parte de su encanto
De esa época existen aun dos decorados cinematrogaficos
que fueron escenario de los famosos spagueti wetern de Sergio Leone (la foto pertenece a uno de ellos) hoy reconvertidos en parques temáticos ambos en el municipio de Tabernas
aunque la fiebre de los rodajes fue en los años 60 y 70 siguen rodándose películas de todo tipo
Por sus escenarios se han paseado actores ilustres, como Clint Eastwood, Brigitte Bardot, Anthony Quinn, Claudia Cardinale, Alain Delon, Sean Connery, Raquel Welch, Orson Welles… El Desierto de Tabernas posee singulares, hermosos y enigmáticos paisajes que recrearon escenas de legendarias películas de la historia del cine, tales como: “Lawrence de Arabia”, “Cleopatra”, “El bueno, el feo y el malo”, “La muerte tenía un precio” o “Indiana Jones y la última cruzada”........
