Ein bisschen Regen, ein bisschen Sonne und die Natur zeigt sich mal wieder von ihrer schönsten Seite. Ich mag diese Kombination. Meine Kamera war von diesen Wetterbedingungen auch begeistert.
A bit of rain, a bit of sunshine and nature once again shows itself from its most beautiful side. I like this combination. My camera was also delighted with these weather conditions.
When we returned from our holiday, we were delighted to discover that our sunflowers had finally bloomed, they were planted ages ago. Our next door neighbour kindly watered our garden every day while we were away. One of them is even taller than me, but then again that’s not saying much 😂😂. Decided today to do some macro while the sun was out in the hope of capturing a bumble bee or a butterfly in one of the flowers. Well I managed a hover fly. Oh well. 😂 I’m taking the weekend off now, having some family time. Have a sunny delightful weekend, my friends 🌻🌞❤️

Aubrieta (Aubrietia, ‘Murasaki-Nazuna’ in Japanese) is a genus of flowering plant in the cabbage family. The photo is of a cultivar of Aubrieta deltoidea, a species native to southern Europe and western Asia. It produces delightful blue-purple flowers in spring. One of my favorite spring delights.

Dragonflies and damselflies
Bejewelled with colours bright;
Hovering near an emerald lake;
Glittering in the light.
They’ve wings of iridescent shades
And striking, searching eyes.
Their agile bodies soar and glide
Across clear, azure skies.
Chasing, skimming, flying fast,
Their brilliant colours gleam.
Glistening, glinting in the sun
Over lakes and streams.
They lived their lives upon this earth
Before the dinosaurs.
Since ancient times they’ve hunted food
Around their watery shores.

Will make you stop and stare.

On my way to Kamloops, I had thoughts in mind for a photo of the hoodoos prior to sundown. However, an unintended delay stretched my departure and I missed my planned arrival. To that end it is always a good idea to have an alternate destination. There are so many opportunities out there that the one in mind will wait for another day.
This place was my alternate destination and has often rendered terrific results. However, since "you never know till you go", meant observing this rather unique event. The red line in the sky was occurring at the sunset hour and reflecting off the Thompson River. A short walk and I was in an ideal spot to catch this isolated event.
