⭐️Thank you in Advance for your kind ‘Faves’ Visits and Comments they are so very much appreciated. 👍
I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their Visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’. If I do not reply to your 'Comment', it is not because I am ignoring you, it's because I have not seen the 'Comment'.
Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)
I know for a lot of us, photography is an escape form the madness of the world, but in the context of this photo it is a reaction to an action.
Last night, the Village of Beecher finally hosted their fireworks show on Labor Day weekend, 2 months after it was originally scheduled. The delay was because the Delta variant was really starting to ramp up on infections. Since then, cases in the US have increased steadily, most notably in the last couple weeks. About 6% more of the US has been fully vaxxed between when this show was delayed and now.
The rising sun finally wins its daily battle with the ground fog. Thanks for the look. Have a good week ahead.
Always do it on my own
So I gotta get through it
And the only thing I know
Is to love what I'm doing
Never give up, never slow
Till I finally prove it
Never listen to the no's
I just wanna keep moving
My agenda saw me starting my Ester holidays at the Danish West Coast today. Unfortunately circumstances were against our plans, so no Easter Eggs on the beach, looks more like playing hide and seek with myself in my garden („got you punk, you desperately need a hairdresser“). Anyway, as soon as martial law is over in Europe I will turn North to get my annual wellness time in Denmark. Instead of my first coastal shot of the year please enjoy a picture taken last weekend of river Werre near Löhne, Ostwestfalen, Germany
I stood in the rain and watched the leaves fall of this awesome tree in the park for maybe longer than I should have, I was pretty soaked at the end lol Worth it to see such nice colors : )
Took on my phone, Huawei P20 Pro
2 landscape 42mp raw photos merged together in lightroom
You just have to get used to the fact that I am soooo slow and a lot of my pictures take a year or more to see the light of day.
A fence image from the big snowfall in January.
Happy weekend everyone!
Two of the Grand Forks horses, looking for something to snack on. It's been a grim late winter and spring here. Now we have flooding.
Getting wind of a very late running No 35 freight train about 9 hours late saw me at Andover to try and get a shot at one of the few locations I could think of with the correct lighting. When I arrived the sky was black and there seemed no chance of getting a sunny photo. However the train did a crew change and was further delayed and miraculously as I heard the approaching train the sky started to break up a bit. By the time the train was infront of me it was now full sunshine peeping through the clouds. Note it was blowing a gale too as the grass will attest to.

Just back from the Camargue what a fantastic time (South of France) ... marred by Easy Jet delays... going 36 hours, and delays returning..
the experience was so wonderful
mosquitoes feasted well...
Nearing my take-out point in Bay Area Park, I encountered this nicely posed Snowy Egret that briefly stopped me in my tracks on Armand Bayou.
Calling out to my wilderness:
Wake! Rise!
Find your way home
You’ve been in slumber for too long
The days are aging quickly
Time curling in as leaves do before they fall
Be swift in your return
Unapologetic for your delay
Bring the jungle with you
The paltry civility is sliding to its demise
Heed the whistle of war
Wander not! Waver not!
Come baring those fangs
Announce your arrival with clamouring armour
Till no doubt exists that you’re here...

On dewy mornings in late August and September, dragonflies are prisoners of the marsh and must wait for the sun to dry their wings before they can take off.

On my way back to Rome, I stopped in San Vincenzo for lunch.
This shot was a little (some distance) south of the wharf area where I had lunch. I was driving south, delaying getting back on the highway.
I pulled into a parking lot and found a tiny spot to park next to a huge RV to get my last glimpse of the coast and my last photo of the trip.
……”Don’t” being the most often in this case. How many photo’s do you have to take to get ALL FOUR sets of flashing lights on at the same time!?! And there’s the digital delay to cope with! Jill liked it and that’s all that mattered. Its my first picture for ‘Smile On Saturday’ so I hope you smiled at my expense?……..Have a great W/End and be sure to stay Covid safe - protect yourself & help to protect others who may be more vulnerable. Alan;-)……

NS 316 waits patiently behind a broken in half 310 in Euclid, Ohio at UD. This edition of 316 had a teardrop window SD75i CN doing the honors. After hearing that they were stopped just 200 feet from the crossing of London Road, I knew that I had to get in the car and shoot, regardless of the 20 degree freezing rain that was falling. Not only were they stuck behind 310 which had 3 CN units, they had to wait on 23K which also had a pair of CN’s. Seven CN units on NS?
