Yesterday, was a very long day in the warehouse. Slowly but surely, we are clearing away 30 years of theatrical props, and costumes.
It was such a welcome relief to come home to some pretty tulips, and a window full of bright late day sunshine.
I enjoy color so much that the RGB levels in my digital paintbox get used regularly.
Last night, after looking at my yellow tulips from all angles and in all shades, I decided to go for this rich cabernet tone.
Not to improve upon God's work, mind you, because as a botanist, He rules. I just like experimenting.
I will dedicate this one to God, who has blessed me with sunshine and colors. With every beam of light, whether by sun, by moon, or by human, I feel His love. And His love comes in so many fascinating shades and colors. Amen.

My wife got this calla lily plant today.. she really liked the deep tones in this one.

When I look at this piece, i think of Matilda from the film "Darkness Falls"...
I wanted to create the image and idea of sort of a female form of the Grim Reaper, a 'soul collector', which is why I've decided to title this piece as I have.
Little Black Dress - Crimson Fever: Bringing the heat in a classic silhouette. A study in saturation and allure, where the intensity of the background is only matched by the intensity of the presence.
Little Black Dress - Trouble in Crimson: A dangerous combination of deep blacks and a smile that knows exactly what it's doing. High fashion meets high intensity. The saturation here was intentional, does it evoke the right energy?
