Your like a wave washing over me pulling me underneath sinking slowly!

As the crowds line the streets in anticipation for the parade, the participants find their own ways to prepare for the celebration.

February, 2020

The University of Tasmania is 125 years old and has been celebrating by lighting up many of its buildings with red LED lights.

Taken with a 14mm wide angle lens on full frame, this building looks more massive than real life, and its ominous red presence reminds me of the computer in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy called 'Deep Thought'. It was 'a computer that was created by the pan-dimensional, hyper-intelligent species of beings' to find the answer to "life, the universe and everything".

After seven and a half million years of calculation Deep Thought proclaimed that the answer was in fact "42".

"Only the weak are cruel. Gentleness can only be expected from the strong."

One day I spotted glistening mushrooms popping up in-between green clover. I knew it was a moment to capture. Life is so fleeting and we need to support each other and love each blessing. That's what the mushrooms said.

"Has it ever struck you ... that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quickly you hardly catch it going?

It's really all memory ... except for each passing moment."

Nel silenzio della solitudine si ritrova il ritmo del proprio cuore, l'unico suono capace di rimettere ordine nel caos del mondo.

In the silence of solitude, one finds the rhythm of their own heart—the only sound capable of bringing order to the chaos of the world.

I've been thinking quite a bit about identity lately and my personal identity as an artist. Life is one of those journeys where I feel like, as long as I am still breathing, I have to still keep creating. How will I know that I am still alive if I am not making art?

One of my somewhat former identities was as a concert photographer as I have always loved both music and photography. I have gotten away from this a bit for so many reasons...the pandemic, the inane photo contracts, the publications I photographed for going defunct some of them...all of these things create a certain level of uncertainty that you don't have if you want to take macro photos of mushrooms, for example.

But, I think as much as I tried my best to show engaging photos of musicians, I was always really trying to capture the essence of who they were as humans. Kind of like how you rarely see people going to the bathroom in films even though it;s one of the most relatable human things. I'd probably much rather see a film based on a two hour conversation than any action film out there. That's what is real to me.

Anyway, we all think and we all have our little gestures...that's our "tell" that maybe we aren't all completely consumed by AI yet I guess.

Blonde Redhead is one of my favorite bands of all time and here is Kazu placing her delicate fingers up to her lips...deep in thought between songs. What is the true meaning of existence? Maybe, we will never know.

A volte l'errore non è non trovarsi, ma pretendere che gli altri comprendano il labirinto che abbiamo dentro.

Sometimes the error is not being lost, but expecting others to navigate the maze we carry inside.

After 24hrs of serious mind searching, Ive come to the conclusion that the more things change, the more they stay the same....Im finaly wrapping my mind around this whole concept......Its 2000 and Seven, you would think that Ppl would have learned not to discriminate. ONE LOVE MY FRIENDS.

Just a guy sitting on some old railroad tracks in the redwood forest near Santa Cruz, California. Gotta wonder what's on his mind.

Ya just never know what you're gonna find in those hills.

it was in this moment that Howard paused to contemplate on the meaning of life. There must be more than endless hours of flight, the ongoing search for a mate and avoiding humans, something deeper, a higher purpose to it all...

then he saw a week old French fry

Approval from others is one of those things we cannot avoid. It fuels our ego, keeps us motivated, and gives us satisfaction that our achievements aren't just the fabrications of our own deluded internal egos. However, what does one do when we don't receive approval from those who mean most to us? Do we write them off? Do we consider their bitterness and lack of acceptance as jealousy or envy? What can we do to continue to better ourselves in spite of criticism from those we so badly want to impress?

The answer: focus on what makes you happy, and not what you think will please those around you. Easier said than done, right?

*Cheers to finding your own form of happiness*
