Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited presents

A film by Majestic Multimedia Limited

Preface

Chikku Bhukku

Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited presents a film by Majestic Multimedia Limited, which has set new standards for Tamil film production with their recent blockbuster “Dhaam Dhoom” They have aimed to reach even higher with their forthcoming film “Chikku Bukku”

The film stars Aarya, who did a stunning performance in “Naan Kadavul”. Shriya Saran who has done a “never before” performance in this film. Debutante Preetika has a very important role in the film and she is the younger sister of Bollywood star Amrita Rao.

K. Manigandan, who was the Associate Director to Jeeva for 12B, Ullam Ketkumme and Unnale Unnale, took over and successfully completed Dhaam Dhoom, after the untimely demise of Jeeva. Media One Global Entertainment Limited, who was impressed with Manigandan in Dhaam Dhoom, recommended him to Direct Chikku Bukku.

The film has completed shooting and the Audio is released on Aug 13th 2010. The audio rights have been acquired by Think Music. After their recent mega budget film Endhiran , Chikku Bukku will be their next consecutive audio release by Think Music.

Arya with his earlier performance in Varudu has created a brand for himself with the telugu audience, Shriya who’s an leading Actress in the Telugu, considering the kind of response that these lead actors hold, the film will release in Tamil and Telugu.

Most of the technicians who had worked with Jeeva are part of the Chikku Bukku team. Camera was handled by R.B. Gurudhev, Dialogues were written by S.Ramakrishnan, and lyrics were done by Padmashree.Valee / Pa.Vijay and music by Colonial Cousins Hari and lesle, Additional song and

Background score was done by Pravin Mani while Rekha Chinni Prakash and Dinesh did the choreography. The costumes were handled by V.Sai and Deepali Noor.

The film is a Romantic travelogue, which starts in London and ends in karaikudi. The shooting took place in around trendy areas of London, scenic locales of chikmagalur, Madikeri and traditional houses of Karaikudi.

The lead pair Aarya and Shriya is not new to the fraternity. Casting them was so fresh and lively as the script demanded stars with individual stardom coming together for the very first time, debutante starlet Preetika, Apparently she is the younger sister of bollywood star Amrita Rao. The draft of the film revolves around these three characters’. Their characterizations are portrayed so appealing, all the stars gel into their respective roles. I would consider my crew as greatest strength, casting of a script makes the fifty per of the film happen, Initially shaping up Aarya from his previous roles portrayed by him to a Next door boy look didn’t happen in a fraction, such as shreya who has been doing characters’ of colors fitted in perfectly for their characterizations.

Aarya and Shriya shaped themselves into the draft and did everything possible for the characters. Aarya was such a positive person, he carried his role so sensibly, a prankster in real life, delivered his expressions so easily, all the actors lived into their characterizations. We also agree on arguments which happened on the sets, but all of it was only a creative process rather than destructive arguments. Aarya, Shriya, Preethika all three were so determined that they would take up rehearsals before every shots, on the process it paved wave to explore their characters’ through their acting.

The music done by Colonial Cousins Hari & lesle. Hariharan the legendary singer has once again composed for ChikkuBhukku, Am sure the inseparable pair would do justice to a romantic feel good film. They have scored feet taping numbers, which has an equal mixture of melody and rap. We have experimented on different voices for our tracks; especially recording with Wadali brothers the desi sensational singers of Punjab for the first time in a filmic score was amazing. We needed fresh and peppy voices for this romantic flick the singers have sung with no influence from the past work. All the numbers turned out to be experimental, two other rappers and singers have made their debutante song in the film, the music which inspired me from the past as an influence thought the film.

Two additional songs and background score are being composed by Pravin Mani, who has been a longtime associate to A.R.Rahaman and who has worked with A.R.Rahman in Ghazini , Slum dog millionaire and Endhiran. Both the composers have contributed to the Romantic feel of the film and their compositions are inseparable.

The Director of Photography was R.B.Gurudhev the visualizer of Chikkubhukku. Guru’s senses of colors are always particular; he colors a frame depending on the mood and the phase of the scene in the draft. His brilliance in framing an artist moulds them into the roots of their character. A visual crafts men, has tuned my ideas into a visual story.

A romantic travelogue the film starts in London and ends in Karaikudi, Not only the film is based on a journey the process of making was itself a journey to many exotic locations. Scenic locales of Chikmangalore, Madikeri, Mandalpet, Kudremug of Karnataka, and splendorous locations in London. The shooting took place in around trendy areas of London, St, paul’s cathedral, westminister, Cannary warf, Piccadilly Circus etc and traditional houses of Karaikudi. We have shot in many hill stations where it was the first ever time a camera could be placed.

The diversity between spectacular locations in London, Rain forests near exotic western Ghats in Karnataka and monumental Karaikudi would give a new look and grandeur to Chikku Bukku

Adding to the film, website is also launched. For the audience to know more about the film.

Tiger Tiger Fading Bright Part 5

The Hunter in the Red PVC Cap is still giving an impromptu rock and roll guitar rendition on his knee. Don't miss that.

the situation on the Tiger front has been grim for quite sometime. The Planet Earth is slowly relinquising its flora and fauna as humankind expands in uncontrollable numbers and fritters away Nature and its resources in a headlong dive to extinction for almost all.

Continuing the series

Tiger Tiger, Fading Bright !

The tigers in India are facing the toughest odds and are on the brink of being wiped out. There is a big industry based on tiger claws and bones etc that drives up the demand for the killing of this beautiful beast.

Men will buy a enlargement (is enhancement the right choice of word ?) of libido anytime anywhere but Chinese men will pay top dollars for tiger remains to increase theirs.

If you wonder why all the grand conservation efforts to save the tiger are failing, go no further then the politics of funding tiger conservation. It has been known for years that it is allegedly a big sham with mega bucks and mega publicity but almost nil results.

If you have the time it would be interesting to read some interesting thoughts and the current day reality on the tigers in an exchange between Thatzme and Aditya Singh from Rajasthan.

One can only hope that one sees a tiger in the wild in one's life time as the future generation may not have that privilege anytime soon. So if you are young and in India, head out and go see the elusive tiger before it is too late.

India has only 1150 - 1600 tigers that are available in the wild as per the Minister of Environment Jairam Ramesh.

Pervez 183A in one of his earlier comments on this series had mentioned >>>

"why don't the Chinese just try Viagra...???...it might make them dance on one leg...!!!"

Will Viagra be the Saviour of the Indian Tiger ?

Deepali was brave and asked for something typically "kenzi" and this is what she got. I have no idea what brain cell or what dream moment this design came from, but then again I never do! Thanks for letting me do my thing.

Puli (English: Tiger) is an upcoming Indian Tamil action-adventure fantasy film written and directed by Chimbu Deven.[2] The film features Vijay in a dual role alongside an ensemble cast including Sudeep, Prabhu, Sridevi, Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani and Nandita.Produced by Vijay's public relations officer Selvakumar, the project has music composed by Devi Sri Prasad, Natarajan Subramaniam as cinematographer and has T.Muthuraj as Production Designer. After beginning pre-production works in early 2013, the film began its shoot in November 2014. The official teaser has been released on 22 June 2015.[3] The film is set to be released in September 2015.[4]

Production

Development

Chimbu Deven was reported to be working on a "fantasy film set in contemporary times" in January 2011 for UTV Motion Pictures and Dhanush was subsequently signed on to play the leading role.[5] The film was titled as Maareesan, with G. V. Prakash Kumar and Kathir signed on as composer and cinematographer respectively, while the team revealed filming would start in late 2011. Genelia D'Souza and Hansika Motwani were confirmed to play the leading female roles in the film, while Vadivelu was also reported to be a part of the cast.[6][7] However, in October 2011, UTV Motion Pictures left the project citing the escalating budget and Aascar Films replaced them as producers.[8][9] The project later failed to take off, and the actor and director moved on to work on other ventures. During the production of his Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaanikalum (2014) in late 2013, Chimbu Deven restarted preliminary work on the fantasy film and narrated the script to Vijay, who expressed interest in being a part of the project. Subsequently, the project found producers in PT Selvakumar, Vijay's press relations officer, and Shibu of Thameen Films, who have previously distributed several of Vijay's films across Kerala. The two producers came together to form a new production house SKT Films and announced that production would begin after the completion of Vijay's work in AR Murugadoss's Kaththi (2014).[10][11]

Although early reports suggested that A. R. Rahman would be the film's music composer, the team later confirmed Devi Sri Prasad had been signed.[12][13] Natarajan Subramaniam chose to continue his work as a cinematographer with the film, despite his acting success in Sathuranga Vettai (2014), revealing he was excited to work alongside such an ensemble cast.[14] T. Muthuraj was announced as the film's art director and began work alongside his commitments in Shankar's I (2014), while lyricist Vairamuthu also joined the crew.[15][16] The team also picked five costume designers to take care of clothing for the actors, with Manish Malhotra, Deepali Noor, Chaitanya Rao, Siva and Sai all brought on board. Furthermore, four stunt choreographers were selected to take care of action scenes with international technicians Sang Lin and Pradit Seeluem, brought in to work alongside Sunil Rodrigues and Dilip Subbarayan.[17][18] Makuta VFX were signed on to be in charge of the film's animations and special effects.[19] Chimbu Deven subsequently worked on finalising the script of the film between January and August 2014. Chimbu Deven and cinematographer Natarajan Subramaniam scouted locations in Kerala in August 2014, finalising schedules in Chalakudi and Nelliyampathy.[20]

Casting

In April 2014, reports suggested Kannada actor Sudeep was approached to play a parallel leading role in the film, while contrasting reports noted he would play the lead antagonist.[21] Sudeep later confirmed his participation in the film, adding it would see him in a "first of its kind" role.[22] The team then successfully signed on actress Sridevi to portray a supporting role of a princess in the film, with the actress appearing in a Tamil film for the first time in 29 years.[23] Another senior actor, Prabhu, also signed on after being approached by the director to portray a character role.[24]

Chimbu Deven revealed that the film would feature two leading female roles to appear alongside Vijay.[25] Initial reports had linked Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone to the roles, but high remuneration subsequently meant neither were signed.[26] Shruti Haasan confirmed that she had signed the film in July 2014, making a comeback to Tamil films after a two-year hiatus following 3 (2012).[27] Hansika Motwani was also added to the cast thereafter to portray a princess, the daughter of Sridevi's character[28][29] Thambi Ramaiah and Vidyullekha Raman were also selected to portray roles in the film, while comedians Sathyan, Robo Shankar and Imman Annachi joined the team in the first schedule.[30] A press release in early January 2015 added actors Naren, Vijaykumar, Ali, Karunas and Joe Malloori to the film's cast. In April 2015, Nandita joined the cast to play a small and pivotal role, after Bhavana had turned down the offer.[31]

Filming

The team began filming on 10 November 2014 at the Adityaram Studios on the East Coast Road, Chennai, where a song featuring Vijay and Hansika Motwani was shot in a set replicating a castle put up by art director, Muthuraj.T.[32] The team then set up base in Pannaiyapuram for a forty five day stint, with hundreds of extras and technicians gathered from neighbouring states.[33][34] A second schedule continued throughout December after which it was reported that the film was twenty percent complete. After a Christmas break, production restarted in early January 2015, and carried on in the outskirts of the city until mid-January.[35] Reports which suggested that the team had secured permission to film at the Mysore Palace was dismissed by the makers as speculation.[36]

The film had begun shoot without a title and had been widely referred to in the media as Vijay 58. Other titles such as Garuda, the script's original name Maareesan, Maru Dheeran and Por Vaal were also registered by the producers, while finalising on a title.[37] The team consequently confirmed the title as Puli in early January 2015, after having bought the rights from director S. J. Surya

The North and South Arcot Area distribution rights were bought by Sri Thenandal films.[39] Ayngaran International purchased the overseas rights while Thameens purchased the Kerala distribution rights. The Karnataka distribution rights were purchased by Producer and director S. Narayan.[40] The audio rights were bought by Sony Music India.[41]

The satellite rights of the film were sold to Sun TV for a record price of ₹22 crore (US$3.4 million)

The satellite rights of the film were sold to Sun TV for a record price of ₹22 crore (US$3.4 million).[42][43]

Principal Judge Nutan Sardessai ruled Mahanand guilty of murdering Susheela Fatarpekar of Curca and fleeing away with her gold ornaments.

It may be recalled that the victim’s sister had filed a complaint against Mahanand at the Agassaim police station on May 19, 2009. The complainant alleged that Susheela was abducted by the accused on October 24, 2007, under the pretext of marrying her.

“Mahanand took her to an isolated spot behind Goa University library and killed her by strangulating her with her own duppata (long stole) and robbed the gold ornaments. Her body was thrown in the bushes”, the chargesheet mentioned.

The accused was booked under section 364 (kidnapping or abduction in order to murder), 302 (murder), 392 (robbery) and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code.

The prosecution led by Sarojini Sardinha examined 21 witnesses including the goldsmith Mukund Rivankar who deposed that Mahanand sold off the gold ornaments at his jewelry store in Ponda, stating he was in need of money for his daughter’s medical treatment.

During the course of investigation police recovered part of gold in the melted form weighing 20.340 grams.

This is Mahanand’s first conviction in the murder case after a string of seven murder acquittals by Sessions Court giving benefit of doubt. Mahanand, who is already convicted in a rape case, has contested the verdict before the High Court of Bombay at Goa.

Mahanand was arrested on April 21, 2009 after the lone surviving victim complained of rape against him. His spate of crimes unfolded one by one after his confession during custodial interrogation and was charged for the gruesome killings over a span of one-and-a-half decade beginning from 1994.
