Just having fun with art in the garden - these Arum Lilies remind me of Art Deco when combined with Deep Dream Generator and Topaz Studio.

Thanks to a multi £Billion restoration, this huge Art Deco building has a new life. It is a remarkable survivor.
The largest brick built building in Europe, with over six million bricks!
Two firms that supplied the original bricks for the power station, were asked to supply bricks for the restoration.
These firms have supplied 1.75 million bricks, to restore it to its original condition.
Up close, this building is truly huge!!

Thank you very much for your comments and faves, regretfully, I am finding it increasingly difficult to reply to your comments, because of my very limited time on the internet, due to constant power interruptions in South Africa. I do read and appreciate every one of them! Thanks again!!
The architecture might be of Great Western heritage, but there's little hiding the elegant art-deco design of those awning lamps on Leamington Spa station.
If only the Shed could boast such fine design aesthetics - but at least it was supporting Britain's export drive by hauling Land Rover cars manufactured on Merseyside, down to the docks for shipment overseas.
The train is the 11.31am Halewood (Jaguar Land Rover) - Southampton Eastern Docks (6O42), seen here making an on-time appearance off the Coventry line, and hauled by DB Cargo unit 66030.

This is another shot in my 50mm lens challenge. It is also one that can only be taken effectively in Winter. For much of the year that beautiful art deco window frame is hidden behind a mass of foliage. But this is a damaged treasure. Unlike the Perrins building next to it, only this half of the symmetrical windows remains true to its original design. My Edward Newton page is also running some black and white city shots at the moment, and I will post a sad view of the entire window below. You will agree it has been sadly neglected (and even abused).
But at least we have this beautiful half of the upper floor window that reminds us of past glory days. Golden like Tutankhamun's mask.
Winter decoration.
Thanks to Evelyn Flint and Skeletarmess for the textures !

The fire of 1917 had devastated whole areas of Thessaloniki's centre (the Jewish quarter for example) and the rebuilding programme, at least of major buildings, followed the Art Deco style. Some of these buildings are architecturally very eclectic and interesting and well-deserving of restoration work (such as this one). My impression is that Thessaloniki's urban landscape is waiting for a major push in that direction. Leica M8, Voigtlaender 35/1.4.
I collect a great many things, but something you may not be aware of is my collection of vintage powder boxes from before the Second World War, as I seldom have shared photographs of them before.
This delicious example of highly stylised Art Deco packaging at its finest arrived the other week, complete in its original mottled gold presentation box and burnt orange thin card lining which all match the powder box itself. This powder box of 'Olive Rachael' shade of Bellefleur Face Powder is unopened. It was made by Bellefleur Laboratories, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia somewhere between 1928 and 1940. The box is 46milimetres in height and 79 millimeters in depth.
