As well as the excursion, this day was a testing day of sorts.
Got a new backpack a few weeks ago to carry gear (Mindshift BackLight). Check! Carried some extra gear just to add some weight and it felt great.
Got some new boots this past week that are water proof. Double check!! Feet kept dry.
And wanted to test using my Canon wide angle on the Sony camera. Autofocus speed is not great, so switch to manual focusing which isn't a big deal for landscapes. Focus peaking makes it easy. Check!
A good day :))

What happens to large structures that become derelict? No, this is not about 'me', but who is responsible or can you just be allowed to let something decompose irrespective of how it affects others or the environment? This may be a wreck in a better state than the RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach harbour. Apparently it is at risk of sinking as there are no bilge pumps to drain the lower compartments and they are corroding and weakening. But who can afford the hundreds of millions that might be required to replace the weakened parts and keep it floating? The current owners seem to be suggesting it's not their problem. If it sinks, will they just leave someone else to pay the bills and deal with the wreck? It's a bit big.

Oklahoma is home to the most marijuana dispensaries per capita of any state in the USA. Known as the "Wild West of Weed," there are more dispensaries (over 2,000) currently operating in the state then there are gas stations. There are about 36 shops for every 100,000 residents.
Medical marijuana cardholders are allowed to purchase up to three ounces of marijuana flower at once from a dispensary. They are allowed to have a total of eight ounces of cannabis in their private residence.
Flower, which is “traditional” marijuana bud, is the most popular product with 49% of transactions compared to only 13% for Edibles, the next highest.

Do or die, you'll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Go and try, you'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
I won't explain or say I'm sorry
I'm unashamed, I'm gonna show my scars
Give a cheer for all the broken
Listen here, because it's who we are
I'm just a man, I'm not a hero
Just a boy, who had to sing this song
I'm just a man, I'm not a hero
I don't care
Not the prettiest of piers, being an austere 1950's reinforced concrete structure, but goo for a few long exposures.

This is what I call a "rocks, trees, trail" arrangement that I find commonly in CCC/WPA parks. A smaller but similar arrangement can be found off one of the overlooks in Shenandoah NP, developed at the same time as this park, Richfield County Park. An old fieldstone staircase takes you down the bluff to the river on the right. Last year, I went over when a new park superintendent cleared a downed tree here and he was amazed. "Who did all of this work?" The ghosts of the WPA spoke on that day.
