It pointed skyward - maybe alerting the nearby trees (I've been reading "The Overstory" about how trees communicate with each other.)
Bit of a Flickr slow-down while I struggle with a non-Adobe workflow for the first time in a long time (trying to break the addiction). I'm also pausing the 'pro' account on a trial basis, while I save up to buy a dozen eggs.
So hopefully all have a fine weekend. I'll be shooting a little but may or may not get more images up. I won't be Flickring much tonight but will try to fave from the mobile.
As I traveled homeward I could see a shape familiar to me and as I got closer I discovered that it was indeed the Great Blue Heron that I had somewhat befriended. He was perched upon some deadwood, standing on one leg as he likes to do often and a very classic heron stance. He glanced in my direction for a brief moment then continued to stare off further down the pond, perhaps eyeing some open water in which to fish in. I tried to get closer but with the ice being so thin I didn't want to chance it and fall in, so I laid on the bank and took a few shots of him standing alone on deadwood.
Winter is taking hold and starting to set in here in the Big Sky Country my friends! All plant life is lifeless and drab until next spring. Days are short and nights are long! Movin on...have a great day people! Thank you!

These are also pictures that belong to the heath landscape. There are some creatures that also live from dead wood.
Auch das sind Bilder, die zur Heidelandschaft gehören. Es gibt einige Lebewesen, die auch noch vom toten Holz leben.
Dead wood at Sariaya beach , Philippines
Sariaya Beach in the Philippines, home to the Monte Vista Resort, boasts a stunning beachfront with significant tidal variations. With favorable weather, it would offer a spectacular view with magnificent reflections. Unfortunately, we weren't blessed with good weather this time. Perhaps, with a bit of luck, we'll experience it one day in the future.

I had the opportunity to get out this evening, the sky showed some potential for a nice shot, but the wind was howling as usual here in Oklahoma. I tried to find an area somewhat sheltered from the wind and this is what I came up with. Have a great weekend!!!
