2025098 Davidson Day School sophomore class trip to Savannah, GA included both service and building community. The day began at the Boys & Girls Club where DDS students helped children with homework and more. The evening included bowling, arcade games and pizza. Thursday’s highlight was a day at Tybee Island with a service project at the YMCA, a tour of the Tybee Lighthouse and Battery, free time at the beach and dinner at North Beach Bar & Grill. 20251204 Davidson Day 6th Graders are completing a STEM challenge to build an earthquake resistant building out of toothpicks and marshmallows. Today are building them and tomorrow we are testing them in pans of Jello!

20240520 Davidson Day School - “Research has found that simply petting a dog lowers the stress hormone cortisol and blood pressure while simultaneously increasing the "feel-good" hormone, oxytocin. Exam week can be stressful to some, so let's Pet to De-Stress Monday, May 20th and Tuesday, May 21st. Come down to the courtyard from 10:15am to 10:45am to reset yourself with some puppy love!"

 

Alaska will be here on Monday during exam break and Ms. Cadilla's dog Poncho will be here on Tuesday.

20251021 Davidson Day School Photo 2 and Photoshop students joined Mrs. Woods and Mrs. Taylor for National Geographic photographer Ami Vitale’s presentation at the Carolina Theatre Tuesday.

 

The internationally renowned photographer talked about her experiences traveling the world, photographing the planet around her. Vitale’s work connects viewers to critical local conservation issues of global importance, underscoring our interconnectedness with one another and the natural world.

 

"The Last Rhinos: A New Hope," the documentary about her work with the northern white rhinoceros premiered on Aug. 24 and is now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
