A little alcove near the office at the abandoned DDD Motel in Wichita Falls, Texas. The camera was backed up in a corner to make this shot, with a wall just out the left side of the frame, and rooms just to the left. This would've been a neat little hotel to stay at back in the day.
This shot is also a good example of the effect of a CTO gel. The bluish light coming down the stairwell is how the X2000 appears naturally at a low (cooler) white balance; the near corner with the planter is how it appears with a 1/2 CTO gel applied.
Night, full moon, ambient sodium vapor light, natural and CTO-gelled X2000, red-gelled strobe.
