Tonight featured a pretty amazing lightning storm. This is a composite of two shots, for a little added effect.
Rushed off the 18th green after my round at East Potomac today to capture the stunning sunset. From Haines Point, looking across the Potomac at DCA/Arlington.

The AMX-30 DCA is a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun of French origin based on the chassis of the AMX-30 MBT. The vehicle is quite similar to the earlier AMX-13 DCA, with the turret being derived from the older SPAAG. Armed with 2x Hispano-Suiza 30mm cannons and equiped with a radar, they posed a potent threat to any low flying aircraft as well as infantry and light armor. While none entered French service, they were purchased by Saudi Arabia under the designation of AMX-30SA.

I love the light in paradise bay during a sunset - it really makes the colors pop! I think the blues are so much richer when bathed in the orange light!

I realize this same angle is probably getting old. I need to work on finding some new sunrise spots...and then figure out how to predict the cool looking sunrises well enough to make getting to those spots super early, worth while.

A late-1940s photomontage of Washington National Airport and a Douglas DC-4 airliner operated by Pennsylvania Central Airlines (PCA). Founded in 1936, PCA adapted its slogan of ‘The Capital Airline’, renaming itself Capital Airlines from 1948. It lost its independent identity when it merged with United Airlines in June 1961.
