I bless the day I found you
I want to stay around you
And so I beg you, let it be me
Don't take this heaven from one
If you must cling to someone
Now and forever, let it be me
Each time we meet love
I find complete love
Without your sweet love what would life be
So never leave me lonely
Tell me you love me only
And that you'll always let it be me
Each time we meet love
I find complete love
Without your sweet love what would life be
So never leave me lonely
Tell me you love me only
And that you'll always---let--it be--me
Pierre Delanoë (original in French, 1955) / Manny Curtis 1957 / The Everly Brothers 1959
Science fiction:
Data could be stored in solar systems. Sun light change on a planet could be a part of a code. Some planets together, they could create a code like a binary code ( used in digital computers), written with a binary number system in which there are only two possibilities, off and on ( like on a planet night and day), symbolized by 0 and 1. Each digit is one bit. There are a lot of planets in a galaxy, and there are billions of galaxies.
It might be possible that a lot of information could be saved in space, and nature might use this data for its next move.

Here’s something special to mark the 1,500th image uploaded to this page, a fantastic and rare shot of Iraqi’s JetStar YI-AKA at Riem, taken by Herwart Schneider. MANY THANKS TO ALL THE CONTRIBUTORS!
YI-AKA was noted at Riem on 23 April 1982, probably the precise date of this shot.
This JetStar was originally delivered to Iraqi Airways in November 1979 as YI-AKA. From 1991 it flew as 7T-VHP for the Algerian AF, Air Algérie and the Palestine Government (as Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat‘s private aircraft until his death in 2004) before being placed into storage at GVA. Re-registered as OD-KMI, but never flying as such, the plane was restored, registered HB-JGK and flown in 2008 but went quickly back into storage. The fuselage hulk was moved to Kemble by road in July 2018 and was still there in April 2019. (Source: Alastair T. Gardiner on airliners.net, Jean-Luc Altherr on flickr)

No mention of the Dennis Tridents at Stagecoach East Midlands can be made without acknowledging the Plaxton Presidents, which are arguably just as (if not more) synonymous with the place than the ALX400s. Despite the majority being new to Manchester, plus a smattering elsewhere, many convened on North Notts and Lincolnshire to see out significant parts of their working lives. Not to mention some operated in Hull, too.
18023 was always nice to see around with its flip dot destination blind and cemented itself as one of my favourites. On 27.7.23 it is departing Lincoln for Sleaford on the 31X and seen immediately outside the bus station, on Norman Street.
Usually at this juncture I complain that none of the East Midlands Presidents survive, but it’s possible that up to three do; 18046 was converted to a non-PSV thing and could still be at large somewhere; 18050 got donated to the police force; and 18056 – which served Bassetlaw but ended its days in Fife – got preserved in Scotland.
Now, all those things occurred between 2021 and 2023 and since then there’s been no update on any of them. Checking the government MOT and tax online database in October 2025, 18046 is shown as taxed until November 2026 but no MOT, while 18050 and 18056 come up as SORN with expired MOTs. So it’s a good indication that they still exist.
As for 18023 in this picture, it comes up with no results on the website so is likely scrapped. However, I can be satisfied in the fact that I was able to cheaply pick up the Northcord model of 18023 last March, so as far as I’m concerned now that *is* 18023... a small and mildly inaccurate representation of the original which fits nicely on a shelf.

"An Antonov 12 cargo plane, operated by Ukraine Air Alliance, was destroyed by fire during startup at Leipzig Airport (LEJ), Germany. All crew members escaped.
The aircraft, UR-CAG, arrived as flight UKL751 at Leipzig at 19:14 on August 8, after a flight from Stockholm, Sweden. The airplane parked at Stand 207. Loading operations commenced at 23:30 and were finished at 01:00. The cargo consisted of almost 49,000 day old chickens, weighing 3061 kg. The airplane was then fueled with 22,908 litres of fuel for the flight to Mineralnye Vody Airport (MRV), Russia. Fueling was completed at 01:21. Planned departure time was 02:15.
At 02:01 the controller at Leipzig cleared the crew to start the engines. The APU was started, followed by the no. 1 engine. During the starting process of engine no. 4, the crew heard a muffled bang and the airplane jerked.
The co-pilot, who was monitoring the instruments during the starting process, had observed variations in APU speed and an increase in temperature. Immediately the APU fire warning flashed. The crew shut down both engines and activated the fire-extinguishing system of the APU.
A flight mechanic then opened the emergency hatch located below the flight deck and observed the fire in the area of the APU. Other crew members handed him three fire extinguishers that were located on the flight deck. The flight engineer and two flight mechanics then proceeded to the fire and emptied the extinguishers. The captain meanwhile instructed the radio operator to warn the tower controller about the fire. The controller was contacted at 02:07. He activated the fire alarm at 02:08:00 and reported the location of the fire at 02:09. The first crash tender reached the airplane at 02:12 and began an attempt to put out the fire.
By then all crew members had evacuated through the emergency exit below the flight deck. The airplane burned out.
Due to the high degree of destruction it was not possible to determine the exact cause of the fire. It is possible that the compressor wheel had burst.
Probable Cause:
Conclusions: "The fire originated in the APU and propagated rapidly to the cargo compartment. The fire was not contained within the APU chamber. The propagation and severity of the fire were aided by the leaking fuel from the fuselage bottom tanks and the burning light metal alloy components of the APU."

Fireworks on Pudong Avenue on the third day of the Chinese New Year festivities.
The Chinese New is not finished after just one day - the main festival lasts for three days, and it finally ends after two weeks, on the next full moon following the lunar new year day.
The flickr location database wrongly states Yangpu Qu instead of Pudong.

Just past the picture posted before this along the creek is a lower section of falls. This one set up nicely, even with the downfall it was a really cool section to shoot.

In Greek mythology, Lycaon was a king of Arcadia who, in the most popular version of the myth, tested Zeus' omniscience by serving him the roasted flesh of Lycaon's own son Nyctimus, in order to see whether Zeus was truly all-knowing.
In return for these gruesome deeds, Zeus transformed Lycaon into a wolf and killed his offspring; Nyctimus was restored to life.
Despite being notorious for his horrific deeds, Lycaon was also remembered as a culture hero: he was believed to have founded the city Lycosura, to have established a cult of Zeus Lycaeus and to have started the tradition of the Lycaean Games, which Pausanias thinks were older than the Panathenaic Games.
