this is a short and long reports of the traditional feast, which was celebrated on November 6 this year in the municipality of Mongiuffi Melia (consisting of the two centers of Melia and Mongiuffi, in the province of Messina) in honor of St. Leonard of Noblac , also known as St. Leonard Abbot or hermit, for he was a French abbot who for much of his life he lived as a hermit; November 6 is the date of the saint's death, maybe he died in 1599. San Leonardo is originally the patron saint of prisoners (when the saint was in life he dedicated himself to prisoners of war, trying to free them, also trying to relieve the severe corporal punishment and fines which they had to submit); later also became the patron saint of blacksmiths, manufacturers of chains, have recently given birth (He helped the Queen Clotilde was in a coma for serious complications have arisen during childbirth: the Queen had a beautiful child), farmers, miners (and robbers). In southern Italy the cult of this saint was introduced by the Normans. It's strange to observe that in the hamlet of Mongiuffi besides the devotion to St. Leonard (he is always holding the chains), there is also a great devotion to the "Madonna of the chain", she is holding chains too (and in fact in Mongiuffi there is a sanctuary dedicated to her).

On the morning of November 6, after the Solemn Mass, the saint is carried on shoulders on the artistic float , with the music of the local band ("St. Leonard"of Mongiuffi) along the narrow and perched alleys. An exciting time it can be observed when the procession arrives at the Fountain Square, in the center of the country, and here is made a gift to this Patron Saint: He receive a "cuddura" (a donut dough braided) particularly embellished with elegant compositions made always in bread dough, so after "smaller cuddure" are distributed to the population (so called "St. Leonard's cuddure").

(Particularly interesting to visit the land of Mongiuffi Melia are the so-called Arcofie or Contrabbone, galleries for the transition from house to house probably built by the Arabs).

This NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope image features the barred spiral galaxy NGC 3059, which lies about 57 million light-years from Earth. Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 collected the data in May 2024 as part of an observing program that studied a number of galaxies. All of the observations used the same range of filters: partially transparent materials that allow only very specific wavelengths of light to pass through.

Astronomers use filters extensively in their observations. These filters may allow either extremely narrow or somewhat broader ranges of light through to the telescope’s instruments. Narrow-band filters are invaluable from a scientific perspective because they filter specific wavelengths of light that are associated with specific physical and chemical processes. For example, under certain conditions, hydrogen atoms emit red light with a wavelength value of 656.46 nanometers called H-alpha emission, or the ‘H-alpha line’. It is very useful to astronomers because its presence indicates certain physical processes and conditions and is often a tell-tale sign of newly forming stars.

The data in this image used a narrow-band filter that allowed H-alpha emission through to the telescope’s detectors. The particular filter, called F657N (F for filter, N for narrow, and 657 for the wavelength in nanometers) or the H-alpha filter, lets through light very close to the 656.46 nanometer H-alpha line’s wavelength. It reveals pinkish star-forming regions in the galaxy.

Data from five other wide-band filters also contributed to this image. As their name implies, wide-band filters allow a wider range of wavelengths through to Hubble’s instruments. They isolate sections of the electromagnetic spectrum allowing astronomers to explore different aspects of the object Hubble is looking at.

In the case of this image, wide-band filters revealed the bluish patches that hold older stars. In addition, information from multiple filters provides image processors with the data to make beautiful and informative images such as this one.

Your Comcast High-Speed Internet service has a monthly data usage allowance of 250 gigabytes (GB). If you are wondering whether you are at risk of exceeding this 250GB threshold, you should know that the vast majority - around 99% - of Comcast customers use significantly less than 250GB per month.

You see yours, go to customer.comcast.com/Secure/Home.aspx and click on "Users & Settings" (not under "Internet" like you would think).

I could have lots of fun with this I bet.

Computers are essential to a sustainable working place because we need all of the technology that we can get in order to run a successful business. If you have a lot of computers and have data center equipment, you should consider getting a data cabinet in order to organize your data center so that it can run efficiently and effectively.
