El propósito del "Taller de análisis de grandes volúmenes de datos comerciales de arroz”, en el cual participaron empresas productoras de arroz, molineros y centros de investigación de Uruguay, Brasil, Argentina, Chile y Colombia, fue difundir y promocionar el uso de las nuevas técnicas de análisis de información en la agricultura.
El taller fue organizado por el CIAT, el Fondo Latinoamericano para Arroz de Riego (FLAR), INIA Uruguay, el Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Agropecuaria (INTA) de Argentina, y el Instituto Internacional de Investigaciones para el Clima y la Sociedad (IRI, por sus siglas en inglés) y contó con el apoyo del Banco Mundial. Treinta y Tres, Uruguay, del 8 al 12 de junio de 2015.

Graphing data is one of the core components of data analysis. Visualizing information can help journalists quickly identify trends within a dataset, and a powerful visual can tell a compelling story. In this workshop, we will present the basics of the ggplot2 package in R (an open-source statistical language), including installing the package and using it for plotting, exploring, and transforming data. Attendees will leave with an appreciation for the grammar of graphics and the power of ggplot2 for both exploratory and explanatory purposes.
This workshop would be most helpful for those who have experience working with data.
We recommend attendees of this session install the R package as well as R studio to be prepared for the workshop.

DoIT hosted a Data Privacy Awareness table at the Student Activities' "Cookies, Cocoa, & Cappuccino" event on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016 in SAC Ballroom A.
