A blue dasher dragonfly (Pachydiplax longipennis).
I actually took this photo with a UV-Nikkor, which is sort of like using a bazooka to start a campfire.
...But on the plus side, I pretty much never see chromatic aberration with my UV-Nikkor.
It is also a very sharp lens. This photo has zero artificial sharpening.

Me on the deck of a then-new Conrail DASH-8 locomotive. This shot was taken at the first Chester on Track train show.
Sometimes I forget that Dash is so young, but this photo is a nice reminder that he's just a blissful little five year old boy, with so much growth and learning ahead of him.
For posterity, here are some his "kid words" that he still uses:
Unrase (erase -- "I made a mistake that I have to unrase.")
Compartment (apartment -- "She doesn't live in a house, she lives in a compartment.")
Astroy (destroy -- "In Star Wars they astroy the Death Star.")
Constructions (instructions -- "I read the constructions, but I still don't understand how to put this together.")
Sookit market (super market -- "If we don't have a snack at home, can we go to the sookit market to get one?")
I'm going to miss five-year-old-Dash when he leaves, but I'm looking forward to meeting the new Dash.
