Howdy, my name is Dash! Aren't I a handsome boy? I am 7 years old and looking for a home to call my own. I am a neutered male Rottweiler. I am friendly, affectionate, fun-loving and smart. I live at the Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center at 1700 Brown Rd in Auburn Hills. You can visit me there any time the shelter is open. The shelter will not put me up for adoption because of my appearance, so my only way out of the shelter alive is through a rescue.

In differentiating between blue dashers and little blue dragonlets consider:
1. The face coloration. Dashers have lighter face especially around the mouth. Dragonlets have much darker face coloration around the mouth.
2. Size. Dashers are bigger (around 1 3/4 inch or 40mm) while the Dragonlet is only 1 inch, 25mm.
3. Chest and Abdominal Markings. The female Dasher has yellow stripes on each segment while the Dragonlet has more of a blurry yellow streak. Both males have blue tails (abdomen) but the chest (thorax) of the dragonlet is blue while the Dasher has brown and blue stripes.
The above is definitely a blue dasher based on the yellow stripes on the abdomen and the white face and stripes on the thorax. There is blue pruinescence on the tip of the abdomen so I now think this is a young male. That's my best guess and I'm sticking with it.
I did this to try to help me. Hope it helps you. If I made any errors please let me know. I am not an entomologist though I can almost spell it without a dictionary.

Le porte-avions d'escorte HMS DASHER (D37) est de la classe Archer mais avec un îlot.
La quille du cargo mixte de type C3 Rio de Janeiro est posée le 14 mars 1940 par Sun Shipbuilding & Drydock Company à Chester en Pennsylvanie. Lancé le 12 avril 1941, il est réquisitionné le 22 novembre et converti à Tietjen & Long shipyards dans le New Jersey selon les principes de l'USS Long Island, prototype américain des porte-avions d'escorte américains. Il est classé BAVG-4 (British Auxiliary Carrier) car cédé à la Royal Navy dans le cadre du "Prêt-bail" le 31 juillet 1941. Des compléments sont réalisés à Hoboken Navy Yard, il est livré le 1er juillet 1942 et armé le lendemain sous le nom de HMS Dasher.
Il mesure 150 x 21 m et déplace 15 125 t à pleine charge. Son hélice est entrainée par 2 diesels (total de 9 000 cv) qui lui permettent 16 n. Son autodéfense est de 3 canons de 102 mm, 10 de 20 mm Oerlikon et 6 mitrailleuses de 12,7 mm. Le pont d'envol de 125 x 20 m, couvert de bois, dispose d'une catapulte H2 de 24 m, 9 brins d'arrêt, 3 barrières, un ascenseur de 13 x 10 m qui mène à un petit hangar de 60,6 x 18,6 x 5 à 6 m. Un îlot est installé en déport sur tribord. Il peut embarquer plus de 15 avions. Il dispose d'un radar de veille air Type 79B, un de veille surface type 272. L'équipage est de 555.
Sa vie opérationnelle commence le 15 octobre 1942 quand il appareille pour le débarquement en Afrique du Nord. Il accompagnera un deuxième convoi au retour. Le 27 mars 1943, à l'ancre sur la Clyde, une explosion interne entraîne sa perte en trois minutes avec 379 tués ou disparus et 149 survivants.
Il est vu ici le 28 août 1942 à Boston, prêt à rejoindre le Royaume-Uni. Deux Swordfish de la flottille 837 sont sur le pont d'envol.
