I needed to make a few copper prototypes using different sized copper ovals in order to determine just the right size and shape to get the exact form I needed for this project. A requirement of this job is that the dish's function goes beyond the ornamental...it will project a magnified view of the back of the stone out towards the viewer. The shape I found does this very effectively.

I don't know what was more fun, making the necklace or making the collage in Photoshop!
This funky, fun but sophisticated necklace and earrings feature hand made bead caps, green magnesite beads. lemon chrysoprase dangles, bronze and silver wire, and deer skin leather.
I metal etched a sheet of bronze by first stamping it with rubber stamps using a Stazon ink pad. I then cut out the circles on my disk cutter, drilled them and formed them in the dapping block. The ear wires are made from 20 gauge sterling silver - learned how to do that in Deryn's awesome earring class. The necklace has a focal similar to the earrings attached to a large bronze jump ring that I soldered closed. The magnesite beads are wire wrapped with bronze and connect to a bronze double ball hook and eye front closure. Deer skin leather forms the back of the necklace and connects with flattened, balled end bronze wire.

Using my disk cutter and a dapping tool, I first created the hoops from a copper sheet. After that, I applied numerous layers and different colors of enamel to get the desired result. These are very cool!
