Le phacochère, ou sanglier des savanes, est un genre (Phacochoerus) de mammifères africains de la famille des Suidae. Il a une longue crinière sur le haut du dos et deux défenses dirigées vers le haut, atteignant 60 cm chez les vieux individus. Elles lui servent notamment à déterrer des racines ou des bulbes, et aussi à se défendre contre ses prédateurs . Le phacochère peut tenir tête à un léopard ou même à une lionne, et il n'hésite pas à charger s'il se sent menacé.

Mâles et femelles ont des défenses. Ce sont des canines à croissance continue qui sont transformées en défenses, en faisant saillie hors de la bouche. Les mâles ont, en plus, des excroissances calleuses sur les côtés de la tête utiles pendant les combats. Ces bosses sont en fait deux os spéciaux, reliés aux naseaux et recouverts de peau, qui donnent une grande résistance au groin de cet animal fouisseur.

Les phacochères peuvent courir très vite en cas de danger, ils peuvent faire des pointes à plus de 50 km/h pour échapper aux prédateurs.

Don is one of the most picturesque villages of the Dang region. Of late many revelers, especially from Surat, visit this idyllic place situated on the top of the breath taking mountain, only to to litter it with plastic waste & garbage. A request to all the travelers to leave the place in the pristine state that it is & leave nothing else but footprints where ever you travel.

Both creatures were figured in the Wild Lanterns exhibit at the Woodland Park Zoo. Dang Kang is an "auspicious beast" in Chinese mythology and the Griffin is a beast in Greek and other mythological pantheons. The Dang Kang emitted a plume of smoke periodically.

Đôi khi, cảm xúc chỉ là nhất thời thôi. Em thà nén chặt cái mong ước đó tận sâu vào lòng còn hơn ôm mặt nức nở. Khóc đau lắm anh! Khóc mệt lắm anh!

Chỉ với 1 câu nói, 1 lời quan tâm, 1 hành động cũng đủ khiến em bất lực.

Mỗi lần đc nhìn thấy anh, em lại khó thở... R` còn lại gì đâu với nghẹt ngào nước mắt. Cũng chẳng biết nói gì... hành động cũng lọan xoạng...dường như, mọi suy nghĩ cũng cắt ngang...!!

Làm sao để em k nhìn anh dù anh đang trước mắt em?! Làm sao để thôi nghĩ ngợi mông lung ?! - THẬT MƠ HỒ!

Có cả hàng tá hàng tỉ câu hỏi - ước muốn... nhưng chỉ là 1 trong những xúc cảm luôn tuần hoàn diễn ra.!

Đã là " ước " thì sẽ có thể hoặc k thể...

Em vui với cảm giác bay bổng... tràn ngập nụ cười khi thấy anh khỏe mạnh !

Em thật sung sướng siết bao khi thấy anh hp vô biên !

Đó có f là lòng bao dung em đang dành cho tình cảm của chính mình k ?!

Lại thêm 1 điều khiến em bận tâm... " Em thương anh có mục đích k ?!"

- Ừ, thương là vậy đó...!! Là mỗi khi thấy chạnh lòng khi thấy việc ngoài ý muốn xảy ra... Nói rõ hơn là thấy anh đi với người khác...

Thấm thía gì anh nhỉ :-) Anh còn có thể găm hàng ngàn con dao vào em mà !

I had spent a couple hours waiting for a huge flock of geese to settle down and move toward the little ponds I was at. The snows had finally got in reasonable shooting distance and I was just blazing away. All of a sudden the geese just went heads up and silent. Those of you who have been around big flocks you know how odd that is. Just a few seconds later off they went. Of course I was blazing away as they went. As they took off the came pretty much right over me and a bald eagle had singled one out. A canada. After lots of twisting and turning amazingly the honker out manuvered the eagle with one of those slip 90 degrees moves and then air brakes. One heck of a move. Of course all this action took place 3-4 hundred yards from me so I got a thrill to watch but not a shot.

A la ferme aux Crocodiles de Pierrelatte (26 Drôme)

Sa longueur peut atteindre plus de 6 mètres, soit autant que le crocodile du Nil et le crocodile marin. Il est reconnaissable à ses mâchoires particulièrement étroites et allongées. Chez les mâles de plus de 4 mètres, la longueur de la protubérance spongieuse sous le museau peut atteindre jusqu'à six fois sa largeur.

Le Gavial du Gange a 29 dents de chaque côté de la mâchoire supérieure et 26 dents de chaque côté de la mâchoire inférieure. II porte des plaques osseuses sur les côtés de la nuque et du dos. C'est le plus adapté à la vie aquatique des crocodiliens. Revers de la médaille, il ne semble pas capable de marcher comme le font les autres membres du groupe lorsqu'ils sortent de l'eau.

Les œufs de gavial sont plus gros que ceux des autres crocodiliens. À l'éclosion, les jeunes mesurent environ 35 cm de long. La taille du jeune gavial augmente en moyenne tous les deux à trois ans d'environ un mètre, dans un milieu sans présence humaine.

Alimentation

C'est un crocodilien piscivore. Il se nourrit uniquement d'animaux aquatiques. De ce fait, il ne présente pas un danger pour l'homme qui ne fait pas partie de ses proies. Ses très longues mâchoires sont garnies de dents fines et pointues lui permettant de maintenir fermement ses proies glissantes (poissons, amphibiens, crustacés).

It's been more than a hot minute since I last posted a photo here. Changes in work schedules means it's harder to fit photography in. But the conditions were good yesterday, and I had no early meetings, so I made the effort and was rewarded with a beautiful misty pond. Just drat those pesky geese.
