Close to the French border in Port Lligat, Catalunya, Spain the famous artist Salvador Dali lived and worked in this modernistic house for over fifty years. It is now a museum. One of the house's eccentricities are the two large egg sculptures on the roof.

Recuerdo hace ya años, muchos quizas, que en compañia de un buen amigo y de mi hermano, discutiamos sobre la presencia de Dios, las dimensiones del universo y demas asuntos propios del estado en que nos encontrabamos. En medio de estos dilemas tan sabrosos, decidimos ir de visita al domicilio del Sr. Dali, en esas fechas ya en los ultimos dias de su vida. No podiamos aceptar que se fuera con sus musas sin conocerlo... No se realmente lo que acontecio en los minutos siguientes, ni por donde nos llevaron los desvarios de la absenta, pero lo cierto es que no llegamos a culminar nuestra aventura Daliniana.

Esta obra, creada en el año 2000, está inspirada en la pintura La mística de la estación de Perpiñán, pintada por Salvador Dalí en 1965. "Dalí dice:"Estoy muy feliz de que la estatua se coloque en este lugar, en una silla gigante. Es genial tener a Dalí frente a la estación.

El artista describe este logro como "una obra popular y accesible" e imagina, divertido, "jóvenes que podrán patinar alrededor».

There on the side of a brick building was the giant head of Salvadore Dali engaging me in an instant staring contest.

I knew almost immediately I didn't stand a chance so instead I took out my iPhone.
