El Desierto de Dalí también conocido como Desierto de Salvador Dalí es un desierto del suroeste de Bolivia, ubicado al sur del departamento de Potosí cerca de la comunidad Quetena Grande el desierto se destaca por sus estrañas formaciones rocosas.

El desierto esta dentro de la Reserva Nacional de Fauna Andina Eduardo Abaroa y al sur del Salar de Chalviri. Se encuentra a una altura promedio de 4750 msnm y tiene una superficie aproximada de 110 km².

Se denomina así porque es similar a algunos paisajes pintados por el pintor español Salvador Dalí, aunque él nunca supo de la existencia de este sitio.

Esta obra, creada en el año 2000, está inspirada en la pintura La mística de la estación de Perpiñán, pintada por Salvador Dalí en 1965. "Dalí dice:"Estoy muy feliz de que la estatua se coloque en este lugar, en una silla gigante. Es genial tener a Dalí frente a la estación.

El artista describe este logro como "una obra popular y accesible" e imagina, divertido, "jóvenes que podrán patinar alrededor».
