SINGING to find a mate! they have one of the most complex songs of any bird, and it was so involved in his courtship, he did not know I was right in front of him, in fact too close.

The male gets several nesting sights ready, but the female has the final choice of witch one to nest in, and amazingly they have been known to nest in the following places.....Woodpecker holes.....bird houses....empty animal skulls......abandoned hornet nests.....fishing reels...watering and empty flower pots....tin cans.. .teapots.......old boots....iron pipe railings....weather vane....holes in a wall, and even the axle of a car that was being used daily.

Chiedo scusa per il numero di foto allegate ma ritenevo necessario fare una ampia panoramica di una situazione tipica e, secondo me divertente, che si presenta quotidianamente davanti alla Torre di Pisa.

I apologize for the high number of shots but I would like to give you an idea of how many funny "situation" like this can be daily captured in front of the Pisa leaning tower.

While walking through the city of Børkop to reach the Auto repair shop, I passed by the small tunnel under the road.

Just a daily capture of our normal life.

I walk by this home frequently on my daily walks through Atherton, and it remains a mystery. Atherton, zip code 94027, is the most expensive real estate in the nation, with the average home selling for $7.5 million. But this one is abandoned, with a mossy, crumbling driveway, boarded up windows, cracked roof tiles, overgrown vegetation and collapsing garage. It's a 3,200 sq. ft. Spanish style home on 1 acre, and would sell for >$4M. It would no doubt be bought by a developer who would knock it down and build a $20M mansion like other new construction in the area. Maybe it's tied up in probate?

This daily capture is in keeping with the theme of "Introductions"; I am a walker, am a slave to my Fitbit and have maintained a 10,000+ daily step count for 402 days now, averaging 6 miles a day. That means a lot of my daily photo captures happen while I'm out walking.

So I was walking home today and saw this pine cone on the sidewalk. It was sitting straight up and just looked very interesting to me! So I ran back with my camera and took a pic of it. :)

What makes you remember the past is not memory itself, but the imperfection. Having DP2x was a process to rethink the meaning of daily captures.

Monday evening I met up with BuddyMonday at Black Rock. Once there we decided to make a trek eastward through the swampy shoreline. I was due to head to work immediately after the shoot, so I didn't mind getting a little wet... we'd just have to be a little cautious about where we stepped. About 100 yards into the journey we ran into a problem -- the insects became too overwhelming. Flies incessantly flew into my ears, eyes, and mouth. I surrendered, but before retiring from the scene captured a quick three-shot burst of this point-of-view. Hope you enjoy. Appreciate any comments and favs!

As an interesting sidenote, BuddyMonday and I bumped into Garrett Costanzo while there. Not sure how he could stand it, but Garrett managed to walk right through this area. Apparently I'm too squeamish.

This is a three-shot, handheld HDR image. Processed in Photomatix Pro and Lightroom. You can read more about this shot at my Daily Capture Blog.
