At $549, I was finally able to purchase a nice SLR camera: a Nikon D3000. It was well worth it! Pictures are stunning, got the professional look, and its great with my shaky hand! I should really update my Flickr account to pro.

La Biblioteca Histórica de la Universidad de Valladolid situada en el Palacio de la Santa Cruz, fué fundada en 1483 por el Cardenal D. Pedro González de Mendoza y es la Sección General de Fondo Antiguo de la Universidad, que recoge obras publicadas con anterioridad a 1835 - The Historical Library of the University of Valladolid located in the Palace of Santa Cruz, was founded in 1483 by Cardinal D. Pedro Gonzalez de Mendoza and the General Section of the University Old Fund, which collects works published before 1835 .
Using my girlfriend's Nikon d3000, I attached my reversed lens and my SB-800 speedlight and tried shooting a macro photo.
Self-timer was so difficult, I had to do this on my own and the shutter release button broke so I was jumping in and out the bath every two seconds to check the shot, dry hands and press more buttons only to repeat several times! Worth it though!
