The other day I went out to the first cyclocross race of the season in my city to take photos. It was an enjoyable time.

Today I attended my first cyclocross race as a spectator. Social events have been difficult for me due to my anxiety so I'm quite thrilled that I finally got out to something. I took many photos of the cyclists. This particular one stood out the most to me.

Cyclocross Women's Elite in the Netherlands. National Championship Zaltbommel. Walking through the mud
59cm Davidson Cyclocross frame & fork that was previously raced by Dale Knapp who took Bronze in the 1994 United States National Cyclocross Championships in Seattle, WA (presumably on this bike). Now retired and serving as my around town CX bike. You never know when a trip to the market or the pub might involve a little dirt.
Fans placed dollar bills in beer cans for Cyclocross racers to grab. Many riders played the game. On camera flash to freeze action in center while blurring the rest. 1/80 sec exposure with on camera flash fill. I'm always impressed with how much pain is involved in cyclocross.

Cyclocross is about the vibes. Gotta have some tunes going to get the riders across the line. And some gentle roasting through the PA.
