à Théza, a été encadré par Gaspard Bébié-Valérian et Manuel Fadat, artistes et intervenants pour l’association
Oudeis. Accompagnés également des enseignantes Laurie Bernadac, Anne Allié, Dorine Jadeau et Sophie Menet, cette réalisation tient en un objet éditorial situé entre la revue, le fanzine, le livre d’artiste. À partir de carnets de
voyages réalisés en 2012 suite à un voyage dans le pays basque, il a été question de réaliser un seul carnet de voyage, atypique, commun à tous les élèves, conçu et réalisé par ceux-ci.
Projet graphique, textuel, expérimental, utilisant une batterie de procédés, de techniques et de technologies
appropriées, étayé par un soubassement théorique ainsi que des exemples probants, l’atelier de création s’est appuyé sur leurs souvenirs, leur persistance, leur exactitude mais aussi leurs déformations, leurs transformations, a posé la
question de la mémoire (des lieux, des personnes, des rencontres, des sensations, des perceptions). Nous avons tous ensemble fait remonter à la surface le matériau avec lesquels les élèves ont créé, par le dialogue, l’interrogation,
la réflexion, l’imagination. Les objectifs et la nature de l’atelier, ont ceci de singulier qu’ils ont permis aux élèves d’éprouver et d’expérimenter toutes les phases d’un processus de création, d’édition.
Ce temps de travail se focalisa autour de procédés d’expérimentations visuelles et textuelles inspirées de l’écriture
automatique, du cadavre exquis, du caviardage, du haïku, du cut-up, de la métagraphie, de l’association libre, du jeu du hasard. Un moyen de faire cohabiter les diversités, de transformer, détourner, créer à partir de matériaux existants. Comment jouer, transformer l’anodin, comment susciter l’intrigue, induire de l’ambiguïté, de la poésie ou même provoquer le sourire, tout ceci à partir de journaux, d’images et supports diversifiés. Chacun des participants put s’adonner au plaisir de la juxtaposition, de la déchirure, du collage, du froissement, copier-outré, du bruissement, du raturage, du feutrage, du bombage, masquage, pliage, scotchage et autres manipulations graphiques.

I was supposed to write an essay based on the idea of Francis Alys' Guards (2004), but somehow didn't write an essay at all and got very carried away. It went from a critical look at the place of walking in modern art to attempting to dissolve all logical meaning entirely. Initially a snide piss-take, I wrote a ludicrous non-story about the City of London and its inhabitants. After that the form of the essay went out of the window too. The "Cut up" of writing was pioneered by Dadaists and later used by Beat Generation poets. I didn't manipulate individual lines or letters but instead used chunks of text and sewed them back together to turn the written text into something more visual and dissolve meaning even further.

The race before restrictions
It's the morning after and I feel like I've gone a couple of rounds in the ring too many. Back is sore, legs screwed, hands cut up, shoulders aching. We are racing against the changing season on many fronts. The first is burning off the wood piles before the end of the month, fighting the erosion resulting from the heavy downpours and to get some seed down before the end of the rain and getting the fencing done. Bit by bit things are getting done.
The following shots are before I started the day. I like this time of day. I was a bit late having not prepped my kit and I still had to pick up some food. Taking my time driving up through Warrandyte, Kangaroo Ground, Panton Hill to Strathewen wasn't an option.
It seems everyone is out exploring the back roads. If it's not the out-of-towners doing 60Km in the 80Km zones because there are hills and corners, it's bikers wearing off the week at work kilos in the saddle. But who am I to complain? I can turn up the stereo and catch glimpses like these.

First off I'm not big full of muscles at all. I'm a regular guy and its funny that I always wanted to do a pic relating to the P90X guy I see in the commercials. He's always looking good and I always noticed his pictures are always Black and White. When I walk in the groceries or book stores I also notice big muscular guys in the cover of these muscle fitness magazines in Black and White photos. So I talked to a friend and he says its the ultimate illusion to make you look like you have lean muscles and the shadows are the trick. Anyways here is my best take to disguise myself like the muscle magazine covers.
