Wonderful old market right on the waterfront of Seattle - dates from 1907, with several revisions along the way, and has ended up a haphazardly complex structure straddling old warehouses, loading bays, stalls and shops, and propped up over the steep hills of downtown.

A simple but perfectly done space. A tram station, with café and newsstand built into the wonderful circular centre. Great stands outside for a quick coffee and a browse through Die Neue Zurcher Zeitung.

Koban are mini police stations dotted around Japanese cities, enabling citizens to interact with police in a more intimate, approachable fashion. They form a distributed organisational model for police within the city, rather than simply relying on large, centralised police headquarters.
