After those set photos, I immediately started working on this guy. Can't wait for the trailer.

The venerable LL-928 Galaxy Explorer class of spaceships, known throughout the Federation as the workhorses of the fleet. For over 40 years now Galaxy Explorers have traveled to distant stars, explored strange new worlds and have been the backbone of deep space exploration.

While not as sleek or technologically advanced as some modern crafts, the LL-928 series was built to last and has a legacy to prove it. This is in no small part due to the rigorous and thorough maintenance schedule the ships go through.

Within Arcturus Outpost’s hanger bay (home to Nova Team) Commander Hank Hawkins along with first mate, Janice Jenson go over the maintenance schedule for the outpost’s LL-928 nicknamed “Ole Lady” while crews bustle around the legendary ship.

Deep in a peaceful valley, ‘Detonator Dan’, a ruthless bandit, had his hidden refuge. Inside his cabin, he tightly held a bundle of dynamite sticks.

With determination etched on his face, he knew their explosive power could shatter the valley's calm. As he pondered his next move, Dan understood that chaos could be unleashed with a single spark.

There is nothing like exploring the surface of a previously undiscovered alien planet! Especially when cruising along at not recommended unsafe velocities in one of the Federation's fastest rovers, the Runabout All-Terrain Sport Rover.

Well, that’s at least how Captain Knight feels about it anyway! His copilot on this mission, Commander Sydney Stargazer, hopes her captain doesn't wear out the new rover's accelerator. As it seems to her, he's forgotten where the brake is, or is choosing not to use it. She hasn't decided which one she believes yet.

BTS: The reports of my assimilation have been greatly exaggerated! Man it has been a long time since I've post anything! And even longer for something Nova Team related! The last time, I promised I wouldn't be away for very long and well, life got in the way. Work, family, stuff like that and on top of it, I lost my LEGO creativity. I am truly sorry for that. Sure, I've some done work for Blocks Magazine on and off (actually got some stuff to show you, and something new coming out in a future issue) but I lost the drive to build much, come up with new Nova Team adventures and take pictures.

However, its February, or better known as Febrovery! Over the last few weeks I've been scrolling through Flickr enjoying everyone's wonderful rovers and I felt the itch, the unmistakable LEGO itch! I've been siting on 3 little rover builds for a year or so and never gave them the "Nova Team treatment". So, as 11th hour Febrovery entries I'll be posting photos of these rovers over the next few days. I can't wait for your comments!

I'd love to say I'll be able to post a lot from now on. But after these rovers, some Blocks stuff and maybe a few throw backs from old projects never seen here before, that'll be it for a bit. We're about to make big family move, and work is crazier than ever. But with some luck and a lot of hard work, later this year I hope it'll be easier for me to get back into this hobby that I love, start building again and more importantly, have new Nova Team adventures! Thanks always for the comments and support. I've always apricated them.

Lloyd, the Green Ninja and revered leader of the Ninjago pirates, hungered for adventure and the chance to protect the innocent.

Tales of a fabled treasure hidden on a distant island had reached his ears, fueling his desire for excitement and riches. Undeterred by the dangers that awaited him, he set sail, determined to claim the elusive prize.

So this is a shot that’s been lingering in my Lightroom library from last year and I figured I'd share it with all of you. I know it's been a while since I've posted anything spacey or Nova Team related and I'm really sorry about that - I miss them too!! I've just been so busy with so many things lately, real life stuff and LEGO things - some of which you've seen in the form of the work I've done for Blocks Magazine and other things that have yet to come out yet. However, behind the scenes I have a bunch of new things in the works for new adventures! In the meantime enjoy!

For those who are interested, unfortunately I am unable to sell the Nova Team minifigures or designs due to the use of the "Classic Space" logo which is owned and trademarked by The LEGO Group. My custom designed figures and use of the official "Classic Space" logo is for personal use only in my MOCs and photography. By the same token, I will not give away the design files and source material either. Thank you for understanding! Trust me, if I could legally sell these, I would.

With its scheduled maintenance complete, Arcturus Outpost’s LL-928 Galaxy Explorer takes flight, to explore strange new worlds and seek out new life and new civilizations.

--- For this shot, I was trying to take the vibe from the box artwork with the ship zipping across a starry skied tan colored, planetoid surface and just give it a 2020’s sci-fi cinematic look and feel.

Made my first custom of Batman🐭 This outfit I took from Batman Brave and Bold TV series, Trials of the Demon episode. It can also be called Gaslight Batman, but I'm not sure.. I gave him a whip because I just think it suits to this outfit, I'd call him: Batman the demon hunter))

I was surprised once I realized the last time I did a proper Nova Team group shot was back in August of 2016. Well, I figured what better way to start off Season 5 than with one! Its fun looking back and seeing how much has changed and yet, stayed the same.

For those of you who enjoy Nova Team, sorry it has taken so long for a new photo series to come out. But I hope the wait will be worth it. I have something cooked up that'll be something new and exciting for them, but also very much rooted in past stories. We have action, suspense and lots of LEGO! My hope is this photo series will also setup the next one.

Currently, I'm neck deep right now bouncing back and forth from building, photographing, editing and writing this. Keep a lookout next week when sometime the first installment will drop and with any luck the rest of the story will unfold at an even pace. Thank you all for you're continuing interest and support. It is always VERY MUCH appreciated!

Finally a fig upload, completed after 2 months of work.

As you can see, the paint quality is better cause I got my hands on some Tamiya and Testors. Although they are Testors enamel ( are those good?)

The helmet, vest, hood, pouches and pockets are all 100% made from scratch, with the vest base being a lego life-jacket modded with a Minifig-cat vest back. The balaclava is painted cuz EG 2 mainstream. Also I lik dat ammobox too much.

And finally did a mainstream partizan so yea.

Gun is PP90-m1, not exactly the PP19 but close enough. Setup is grand bazaar inspired.

lmao i spelled bazaar in the pic wrongly... I mean what. Um, you saw nothing at all.

And wtf pic looks so dark on flickr mobile. why?

Edit: Fixed it.

As the sun sets, the ground crews of Oasis Outpost prepare the LL-962 Aegis Expedition Starfighter for launch. Captain Knight and Commander Stargazer take in the sight before climbing onboard for their latest scouting mission of Planet Oasis.

The is the 3rd iteration of my personal favorite spaceship MOC. Originally built in 2015 and named the Arrow, this newest version, now retconned the Aegis, is the main ship of Nova Team. Even their logo sports a silhouette of this craft. For years I wanted to upgrade this ship. Back then I just emerged from my original dark ages and was new to MOC building as an AFOL. While I loved the design, the detail and building techniques were lacking. So while this version has much of the same proportions and design elements as the original 2015 version this is an entirely new build from the ground up.

I have some additional shots I’ll be sharing here, with a bit more in-universe explanations to come. Keep your scanners peeled!

During the maintenance of Arcturus Outpost’s LL-928 Galaxy Explorer it is standard procedure to disconnect the primary engines from the craft and set them up for repair, and refurbishment of any worn components.

For who knows what reason, Ensign Shawn Stevenson got it into his head to climb on top of the disconnected engine. While it rests in it’s maintenance harness, he engages the engine expelling whatever fuel was left in the injection system and pretends to ride it like a rocket! “I'm a rocket man!!”

--- Many of us have gotten a kick out of the silly and old school idea of using the detachable engines like a little rocket ships suggested on the back of the 10497 box. So I thought it would be fun to come up with something as a nod to that. I usually treat the Nova Team series a tad more serious than this, but I wanted to honor the box art and I thought this was a good compromise. And before you ask, yes that’s a Photoshopped Benny head. It was the best expression I had in my collection to express the absolute joy our “rocket man” was feeling. However, I still wanted this image to match the rest of the Nova Team series look.

As the smaller "sister" to the much acclaimed Mark III Exo-Suit, the E-4 Exo-Skeleton was designed and built for lighter service duty affording its operator the ability to lift heavy loads and traverse terrains that would prove to be too difficult for an unequipped humanoid.

Here a small team of Federation members are exploring the surface of a barren planetoid along with an EX-4 Exo-Skeleton.

[This was just a little build I did a few months back. I found I had a lot of small ball joints lying around in my collection and started to put something together and came up with this. So I figured I'd share it with you all.]

As promised, here’s a data sheet showing some of the features of the the Exploration Bot EX-K1T and a better view of the bot’s build. The EX series exploration A.R.C. Bots are the most versatile of the group and designed to help crews like Nova Team on their missions through deep space. With advanced sensors, natural like articulations and adaptive logic subroutines, the Exploration series A.R.C. Bots will be a must-have in the frontiers of space.

Much more versions of the A.R.C. Bots are yet to come, stay tuned! Sorry it’s taken me so long. I’ve been sitting on these photos for over 2 months now but I’ve just been so crazy busy and haven’t had the time to do the post work on all these.

The Blacktron BT-56 Ravager Interdiction Assault Fighter is a powerhouse in Blacktron’s fighter arsenal.

Ravager Assault Fighters are war machines and as such boast some of Blacktron’s most advanced technology. Its hull is coated in microdiffracted carbon to absorb all visible radiation. When in stealth mode, the craft is virtually undetectable to enemy sensors. When in combat, this also makes them particularly difficult for attackers to achieve a clean target lock.

Reversed engineered alien technology is at the heart of the Ravagers powering not only sublight and FTL engines but their quad Tetryon cannons. To round-out the starfighters’ armament, each are equipped with no less than 6 high-yield Neutronic missiles. You do not want to be at the business end of this fighter.

While visiting the star system simply known as J-216, the explorers of Nova Team have come across an interesting planet. While not completely suitable for human life, the planet boasts some interesting mineral deposits that may prove to be useful materials worth mining one day.

Nova Team: Season 3

This has been a long time coming my friends! I’ve been designing, building and writing lots and I’m happy to officially start the continuation of Season 3 of Nova Team! The last time we saw our heroes was in the small prologue series where they were liberating a Solian Data crystal (and subsequently, saving the life of a smalltime smuggler) from the clutches of the evil Bounty Hunter Kentaurus.

Before I kick off the main part of the story, I thought it was time to do an updated crew photo of the team. As you can see lots has changed. We’ve gone fleshy colored, there’s new members added, plus their spacesuit colors are a little different, and some hairdo changes.

They don't know what kinds of chemicals or strange radiation they might experience on the planet surface once they get to the source of the concentrated biometric signals so it's better to be prepared just in case. In addition to their wearable gear and sensor instruments, the team is being accompanied by the Hazardous Environment A.R.C. Bot HZ-D4K.

So my friends, I've been remiss. I promised all of you that I would post an overview collage of my LL-147 Shuttlecraft a few days after I posted my original image and I totally dropped the ball. I had some personal things going on the past few weeks which consumed all of my LEGO time. But things are winding down now and LEGO fun can now recommence!

Here's my Nova Team in-universe description: The LL-147 Shuttlecraft Personnel and Cargo Transport Craft is a workhorse on Federation vessels and installations. Whether it's tasked with safely transporting an away team down to a planet surface, or delivery cargo lightyears away, the Shuttlecraft's versatility is unmatched. It's two FTL engines give the craft a surprising travel range for such a small vessel and it's roomy interior is perfect for up to 6 personnel (including pilot and co-pilot) or cargo.

The R-RAV, short for Research - Rover All-Terrain Vehicle is designed to be a mobile laboratory and research platform for Federation explorers roving the landscapes of alien worlds. The goal of the R-RAV was to pack it full with as much equipment as it could handle, giving research teams everything they could need at their proverbially fingertips.

After landing the shuttlecraft inside the small hanger of the Horus Deep Space Telescope Array, Nova Team is shocked to find the place in utter disarray. Emergency lights are flickering, small fires have broken out on the deck and the smell of arid smoke fills the air. Main power is clearly offline. However, it appears there's minimum life support, but not much else.

Captain Knight, Lt Sydney Stargazer, Lt. Elizabeth Erandis, and Ensign Kayden Korren cautiously walk out onto the hanger deck. Initial scans are inconclusive. There seems to be some sort of dampening field preventing anything but local scans, limiting the scanner's range to a mere 2 meters. Not much help there. What happened here and where's the crew?

Hey gang, just a little note about this series. These upcoming photos are a bit darker than you're used to from me. When I say "dark" I mean in tone, plot and content (though visually they tend to be darker too). I wanted to do something a little different this time to ramp up the suspense, action and danger to our crew. I'm not saying that all Nova Team photos in the future will be this way, just this particular series. As we work our way through the story it'll be obvious what I'm going for and emulating. ;-) Comments always welcomed!

With the difficult atmospheric entry a success, cargo and equipment unloaded, Nova Team traverses the desolate inhospitable 4th planet of the J-23k star system in their R-RAV (short for Research - Rover All-Terrain Vehicle.)

Due to the atmospheric distortion field surrounding the planet, a viable entry point and landing zone has put the team about 98 klicks and over rocky inhospitable terrain from their intended destination - the source of the strange biometric readings emanating from the planet's northern hemisphere. Fortunately the R-RAV is built for such a situation and the team expects to make good time on reaching this biometric "Oasis".

See…? I told you guys they'd finally make it to the planet!!! ;-) So, I'm super happy to present to all of you the R-RAV! I'm really happy how it turned out, and some of you may of noticed, this was the build I showed during the Beyond the Brick live stream I did back at Philly Brickfest this year. In a day or so I'll post one of the build breakdown images I usually do and give more details on what the R-RAV can do.

Whenever disaster strikes, it's the medical personnel that must leap into action to help the wounded and safe lives. An emergency situation can be a hectic place and having the right people on hand is critical. That is where the Emergency Medical Series A.R.C. Bots come into play. Also known as the EM series, these bots are specifically programed and designed to assist medical personnel with any emergency situation that may arise, especially when they be short staffed.

The LL-962 Aegis is cruising within planet Oasis’s thermosphere on a routine scouting mission in Nova Team’s continuing mission to explore and protect this planet.

Routine or not, up here the view is spectacular. With magenta and blue hues surrounding them, the planet’s star slowly dips below the atmosphere as the neighboring ringed gas giant hangs in space watching over its smaller counterpart.

It is a sight to behold and Captain Knight and Commander Stargazer are grateful to have the opportunity to experience it.

The LL-26 Workbee is small utility craft used for cargo and engineering maintenance. It's idea was inspired by a craft in Star Trek of the same name. However, my NCS version has larger manipulator arms, cargo area and foldable loading ramp and looks quite a bit different. But I liked the idea of building a small utility craft.

Mandalorian smuggler/bounty hunter/consultant, chooses to travel with a motley group of beings to make his way in life.

When visiting alien worlds, Federation explorers sometimes need to traverse long stretches of terrain quickly and efficiently and that is where the LL-78 "Ranger": Long-Range Land Speeder comes in. Built for speed and long distance travel, this speeder is a must-have on any expeditionary mission. Pictured here is Nova Team's Lieutenant Elizabeth Erandis cruising along the deserted arid landscape of a Class-H planet. It's open, yet uneven terrain is no match for the Ranger's thrusters and repulsers as it chews up the kilometers.

[Like most Sci-Fi fans, I like the idea of land speeders, mostly popular in the Star Wars universe. This is my Neo-Classic Space take on one. I drew inspiration from a lot of different types and some really great builds from others in our community. I've been sitting on this build for a while and I probably should of posted it last month with all the LEGO Speeder craze going on but I couldn't come up with a way to present it that I liked. I wanted to have this on an all-LEGO terrain but I lacked the parts and time because I've been working on the next large Nova Team installment. However, I think it came out pretty cool nonetheless. I would love to know what you guys think. In the next day or so I'll post one of my customary overview images so you can get a better look at the build. Take care!]

[Just a quick overview of the R.U.V. Whenever I have a new build that’s featured in an in-universe action just I typically like to post these overview shots afterward so people get a better look at the build. This one is nothing special but I'm pretty happy how this little guy turned out nonetheless.]

As a small one occupant rover, the R.U.V. is the "golf cart" of the Federation. Used for various utility and maintenance tasks on planetary outposts, space stations or large cruisers. Utilitarian in its design, the R.U.V. is definitely built with the form follows function mentality. It's high traction wheels help it to traverse potentially uneven terrain on alien worlds, or outposts and despite it's diminutive size, it has quite the hauling capacity able to hitch various equipment or cargo attachments. Pictured here is a R.U.V. hauling a small fuel tanker through the exterior landing pads of Deep Space Outpost Arcturus.
