for #MacroMondays "CHARM"

Picture for SIZE VERIFICATION in the first commentbox.

My mother used to say: "Where there's a will, there's a way!

I used her old jewelry to make new necklaces for my sisters and nieces and used this charm in her memory.

------------------------------------------------------------

I love those splendid luxurious arcades in London, mostly the ones around Bond St and Piccadilly St. They have the flair of past golden times.

Custom,

to some people means changing the color from White to blue.

To me- Custom is making things "work"-

In this very small bathroom,

there are many Custom details.

The Sink Faucet- made 3.5" inches shorter, to allow the water to flow to the correct spot in the sink vessel.

The Mirror- cut to within 1/16" tolerance on each side for a tight fit without any caulking.

The handmade Light Fixture above the Mirror.

The combination bracket/ indirect Light Fixture below the Mirror.

The Torsby Cabinet "hacked to allow for Plumbing and Shutoff Valves.

The Stainless Steel Air Return Vent in the Shower.

The Corian Strips for the Baseboard molding.

The Shampoo/Soap niche in the Shower

ADAM FRANKLIN BRINGS BOLTS OF MELODY TO AUSTRALIA !

* First Australian solo tour for Adam Franklin

* Bolts Of Melody: bonus track 'Silver Freight Train' exclusive to Australian release

"Franklin’s effortless vocal melodies mesh with the lush guitars on tunes like druggy Syd Barrett tribute ‘Syd’s Eyes’ and the relaxed, sauntering ‘Sundown’. ‘Shining Somewhere’ lifts the tempo a notch, and the instrumental break ‘Theme From LSD’ works a treat in the middle of the album. ‘Coney Island Baby’ has a country and western vibe, and Franklin even verges on Elliott Smith territory with the beautiful ‘Song Of Solomon’ and the delicate folk of ‘Birdsong (Moonshiner Version)’. " TIME OFF

Since Swervedriver went into orbit in 1999, Franklin has experimented with a number of stylings on six releases under the name Toshack Highway and one appearance on a compilation album under his own name. Franklin's seventh post-Swervedriver solo album, BOLTS OF MELODY is his first under his own name and is available now on Chatterbox Records.

Franklin's newer work alternates between a full band sound with acoustic/electric guitars, electric keyboards and bubbly moogs played through guitar effects pedals -- someone described the first album as “Spacefolk.” Sometimes, it's a much more back-to-basics affair -- just Franklin on his own playing simple melodic pop songs accompanied by the warm glow of the compression of the tape machine. Bolts of Melody is occasionally a little electronic and sometimes a little bit psychedelic, a little bit country, a little bit rock'n'roll. You know, whatever... Just take a listen.

Bolts of Melody features Franklin's recent Syd's Eyes single and Birdsong (Moonshiner Version), which were previously only available as Black Mountain seven-inch and Shifty Disco download-only releases respectively. The Australian release also contains SILVER FREIGHT TRAIN, a bonus track exclusive to the Australian CD.

Adam Franklin spent the 1990s as singer, guitarist and main songwriter for London-based Swervedriver, the genre-breaching Creation Records rock band. The group's heavy melodies incorporated traces of The Stooges, The Velvet Underground, Husker Du and Sonic Youth, but it never fit conveniently into a singular genre. Swervedriver's live shows were known for being loud and hypnotic with soaring, hook-laden tunes about UFOs and driving through the desert in the middle of the night.

Adam Franklin, Jimmy Hartridge, Steve George, and Jez Hindmarsh have announced an end to their extended hiatus, as the fondly remembered Swervedriver plans to tour the world early next year, breaking almost a decade of silence. The dates have yet to be confirmed; we'll have 'em for you when they are.

ADAM FRANKLIN returns to Australia in February 2008 to play a string of solo live shows to promote his debut solo album BOLTS OF MELODY, out now on Chatterbox Records.

“Seize The Day” is available for free download via the Chatterbox Records MySpace page NOW!

"Bolts Of Melody is packed with layered, echo-drenched guitars. The album is characterised by Franklin’s trademark dopily melodic vocals and tunes that take in everything from sleepy pastoral acoustic ballads and instrumental Hendrixian psych-outs to Beatle-esque pop and compact garage rock nuggets. It’s an ambitious and often excellent record, with a more ragged edge than Swervedriver’s statelier efforts." RAVE MAGAZINE

"I still got a shiver of early-‘90s nostalgia as soon as that wonderfully familiar, languid voice came in on the opening Seize The Day. Ah, Adam Franklin, you’ve been missed. There’s so much good here. Morning Rain is a downbeat piece of dream-pop, and Franklin gets his Floydian psych on with the (appropriately named) Syd’s Eyes. The epic Ramonesland is the album’s masterpiece, though: a sombre three chord blues, with Franklin muttering lyrics like “she plays the Red House Painters / and it sounds fucking depressing” in a world-weary sigh over tastefully chiming guitars before Silver Freight Train, tacked on the end as an exclusive Australian bonus track, ends the disc on a sub-Mary Chain note. In a nutshell, Bolts Of Melody is a strong album that shows dignified progression and some interesting new musical directions. Hell, it’s just good to have him back." DRUM MEDIA
