We get a lot of these little black crested titmice at our feeders. Speaking anthropomorphically, they seem to have "expressions" more than any of our other birds...
It's April and the Mexican bush sage is in bloom. A warm and sweet welcome to the Eastern Spinebill in front of my window.

It's 1:25 pm. Lunchtime business is exceedingly quiet on a weekday for this restaurant.

I brought my camera inside Mahoney's Nursery when I bought some flowers this afternoon. Abby was in her bed on the customer service counter, and had been roused by incoming customers. She kindly looked at the camera for a few photos before going back to sleep. She later arose and hid under a display table when delivery people made a ruckus.
There were a few WC units lettered for different things over the years. 7551, 3012 and CR 3312 lead GBSOA at Gilchrist on January 31, 1999. The run through CR GP40(or any other run through power) wasn't common east of Gladstone. The little trees that had recently been planted in this location are probably 25 feet tall now and this location that I'd shot from 1975 through the WC era is now grown in, not that your likely to see a morning eastbound here anyway nowadays.

A V90 rolls down the partly still cobblestone paved road-rail shared waterfront along the Rhine in Mannheim's Handelshafen after having spotted a couple of cars at customer Graeff in the wee morning hours. While three customers remain active on the waterfront here, the disused old crane reminds of a significantly more industrial past and the hotel behind it reflects the trend away from industry and toward growing gentrification as is the case in most western countries. A year later I revisited in hopes of getting a proper photo with some sliding-wall cars on the cobblestone section, but of course exactly this segment was redone and the switch here along with all the cobblestone was taken out. On a positive note, the track along the building was put back in use to provide Wetlog with a temporary service of sugar shipments. Arizona. One of all too few butterflies seen around the creek this summer. Very likely the drought and the near complete absence of native flowering plants earlier in the season has something to do with the paucity of native insect life. In the spring the alien species of flora - Globe Chamomile and Little Mallow especially - were able to make the most of whatever moisture remained in the soil from last year's rains, flourishing to the detriment of native annuals.
