The rocket-ship sped through star-studded space, landing safely on Earth with its precious burden, Krypton's sole survivor.
A passing farmer and his wife found the uninjured child, and adopted him as one of their own. As the years went by and the child grew to maturity, he found himself possessed of amazing physical powers.

As I mentions before, the narration was taken from the 1940's Fleshier Superman cartoons, but I took creative liberties and modified the second stanza from the original context, in which Clark is found by a passing motorist and taken to an orphanage, to vaguely include Clark's discovery and upbringing by the Kents, a plot point that was never discussed in the original cartoons.

This was one nice Mercedes replica, and it's only just a bit older than the black one I uploaded on June 28. Blue and white work well together on this, and judging by the number plate it is a replica of a 1935 SSK. CarJam says it is scratch built and was built in New Zealand.

For the sixth year in a row I created a Christmas Lego exhibition for the mall Moldetorget, in down town Molde. This is the third year that we placed it in the window of Norway's oldest photo store, Birkeland Foto AS.
This year I created a Christmas market. You can see a Xmas tree seller, a toy maker, a woman selling food and decorative items and a Pizzeria/Bakery. At the end of the street is a church.
90% of what you see is custom built by me, but there are some models from Lego as well.
Oh, and I also included a lot of film, comics, TV and nerdy references. Can you spot them?

Note the lacquer. Buescher offered two standard lacquer options; Clear and Gold. This is the Gold lacquer. It is opaque and, as you can see, a bright gold color.
The Clear lacquer was transparent but did have a dark honey-yellow tint.
This is the only horn I've seen finished with the gold lacquer option. The clear lacquer seems to have been used more more frequently than the gold, especially on Buescher's saxophones of the '30s.
I get the sense that the clear lacquer was more or less the default lacquer that got applied unless you asked for something different.

Made from and old industrial skid (From a candy company we think. There is a part of a packing label on the bottom, with an address from a candy company in Baltimore. A board has apparently been replaced by a piece of of wood from a crate.)
The legs were welded from rebar by an artist in ReUse Action's workshops (reuseaction.com). They are more sturdy than "hairpin" legs and are built with tapped bottoms for leveller feet. This shows the rust finish, but they can be black, or any other color, with shiny to matte sheen.
The skid is topped with elm, that was lightly sanded and varnished with satin polyurethane. The metal frame was also lightly scuffed and polyurethaned as well. It retains the industrial patina, without it rubbing off in a house.
